| I have been receiving complaints regarding the "spamming" of certain members of this forum via private PM's - specifically, asking them to join another Gerry site.
While as a Gerry site we certainly promote Gerard Butler, nevertheless it is against this site's policy (as well as our forum host's policy) to spam. If you want to promote something, there are more adequate channels with which to do so. By all means, start a thread so ALL of us can see it - not just "certain" members.
If any of you receive a PM of this sort, please bring it to either my or Nay's attention via PM.
Thanks! | |

| Hmmmm... Nope....haven't seen any pm's of this sort. It's well known the only other Gerry site I'm an active member is at Dianne's...not interested in any others. Weird, DK.... | |

| Never got any such PMs. I've said around here somewhere that I'm not a Gerry fan.
Sounds like targetted spamming.

| It was definitely targetted spamming. And the person sending the PM's is no longer a member of this forum.
For the record, I don't mind advertising about other sites here...provided they aren't sites who have caused me and this forum trouble, including banning certain members from their site (in this case, Gerrylicious) without provocation.
It's tacky and in bad taste to do something like that behind the site owners back. When I confronted the person about this, he said he knew I'd find out, and seemed to think it was some sort of joke. Then he went on to bash me personally (called me a 'tart') and ridiculed this site and it's members.
As a result, he has been banned from the Pantry. I don't need that drama here. I have enough real life crap in my life right now to deal with petty cattiness.

| *heavy sigh* I can't understand why they find it necessary to try and hijack more members. I never got the numbers game anyway. It seems to me they have PLENTY of active members....why stick a mole over here when it's still a small site, albeit growing? Why the hell even come over here? We're doing just FINE, thank you very much. They need to get over it already. Put it behind you DK..... Onwards and upwards. XO | |

| It could be they were flaunting their new founded growth spurt.
"We're the biggest G group, so you have to join us."
The problem I have is that the bigger the group, the less I feel connected. I can feel easily ignored and lost. I prefer our intimate group.
And they don't like me anyways. Why would I want to join a group that already banned me? I really don't care if they think they are better, because I know I am better than that.
And when it comes down to it, I think there are other people who deserve my adoration and interest; who truly appreciate what we do. I'm not needed over there anymore.
Soooo...when's the next chat night?

| My only regret about not getting along with the other sites, was that I was also pimping Fass' stuff really well, and now, I can't. I hope I am not deterring fans from being fans, because of my attitude towards their sites.
But in the end, I hope it's talent and attraction that gathers fans.

| The act that is being discussed today was from someone who, in a premeditated, cowardly and externally engineered manner, attempted to siphon quieter members to another site and forum.
What may not be known by many newer members here is that a nasty, complicated and undignified history sits behind this act. With few brain cells capable of operating independently, this former member of Butler's Pantry has shown his true nature and yet again, the nature of his puppet mistress and her utter lack of morality.

| Thanks Julie. I found it ironic that this person called me a 'tart' (aka a woman with loose sexual morals) when he's associating with a forum that includes married women who like to talk filthy with men who aren't their husbands - and not just about Gerry, either. In fact, they wanted so bad to talk filth between themselves that they 'invented' male registrants with which to do so and even made one of them a moderator. Then when Helena encouraged a real live man to register...well let's just say they jumped on him like a bunch of female dogs in heat. I was a MOD on that forum of theirs when I was involved...so trust me, I KNOW the crazy batshit stuff that happens, and what is discussed (both on the forum and behind the scenes, between the MODS). It's one thing to talk risque, quite another to act like proverbial trailer trash. I've been called a lot of things before, but a sexually loose woman was never one of them. In fact, I'm probably one of the most sexually MORAL women that ever darkened the doors of their godawful site. Good riddance to them, I say. I don't want to be associated with filth and garbage. | |

| It grossed me out, Leo. I'm still grossed out by it. I have a hard time talking to a "man" who is a woman behind the mask. I think that is more gross than cleaning up after a baby. Or even watching Hunger. | |

| It's normal for babies to soil their diapers. Hunger was based on a true story, so the grossness had a meaning because it portrayed something that really happened. Pretending to be someone you're not because of some warped fantasy, however, is not healthy. In fact, it's downright mentally unstable, if you ask me.
I have kept many things to myself these past few months because I didn't want there to be bad blood between the sites and it's members. But it would seem in the case of this particular bunch, they don't want to play it nice OR fair, and I for one am sick and tired of keeping my mouth shut while they try to undermine this site and everything we've worked for. I'm a peaceable person and won't go out of my way to start trouble...but I won't be bullied, either. I don't care who they are, who they think they are, or how "big" their site is "supposed" to be.
There were so many things done on that forum while I was a MOD that I was not comfortable with. For example, it started as a place to bash GALS. So many awful things were being said, and I was the MOD who stood up and said it needed to stop. Then when the owner realized she could use Dayna and GALS to garner attention to herself and her site, she did a complete 180 and got "in" again at GALS - and I was the one that was made to look like the bad guy. It was stated from the start of that forum that she wanted it to take the place of GALS. They're not interested in affiliating with other Gerry sites - they want to TAKE OVER.
But as Leo said, we're doing quite fine, thank you.

| My question is WHY do they want to dominate the sites?
It's not like they are going to get anymore attention from G. In fact, his actions and lack of talking about his sites, show that he's willing to steer CLEAR away from the sites. Look at the separation of .net and it's forum. I'm sure there are a lot of reasons for why they were separated, some stories better than others.
And seriously, are fans like that doing him ANY good? They are nothing but a laughing stock to the media, especially when they try to help. It ALWAYS backfires.
That whole crap with delirious and ga:s also cost me my former mod status. I was protecting one site from another, getting to the bottom of something stupid, and the site I was protecting threw it back at me. But with 'friends' like that, who needs enemies? I'd rather be with people who are supportive than those who would throw me away once G appears. That action always bothered me. I saw it the first time I went to a group gathering. It didn't make for a good experience.
Makes me wonder what they think about the new growth spurt.

| Based on what I've seen within the sites, I don't blame Gerry for steering clear of them. In fact, he'd be crazy not to. I'm sure they think somehow the publicity will get his attention. But for what end? I mean, so what if he notices a fansite? Will it make that site any better in his eyes than any random fan he'd happen to run into on the streets or at a premiere? Not likely. And I have to wonder WHY some of these married women want so much to be noticed by him. If I were married, I'd rather have that kind of attention from my husband. Not that I'm knocking the fans who are married, but rather for those married fans who go to such extremes to get to "know" him in a personal sense...for something other than his work. | |

| I never got that either.
I've seen a lot of married fans explain that just because they are married doesn't mean they are dead...or that they are just looking at the menu, whatever that means. Anytime a single fan, usually a young girl, would question that concept, she'd be beaten down by all the married women.
I don't understand it. Even when I was dating, I wouldn't look at anyone else. But then again, I'm not married, and they are.
Don't get me wrong. I understand that you can think someone is handsome, cute, whatever, even if you are married. It's a complement to that person.
But some of those things that are mentioned, like things they want to do to G...wow...
Maybe I'm backwards...

| What the mother-loving hell ... ? I ignore Gerry's crunchy goodness for a few weeks and when I return his fandom has been taken over my howler monkeys. What is the deal with this man's fandom? I genuinely want to know what it is about Gerry that makes so many women nuts.
DK, you're probably the most sane mod I have come across in the batshit world that makes up Gerry's fandom, and I sincerely hope that you don't give this up because of a few assholes. I always love visiting here to chat.

| I wonder what Brad Pitt's fandom, or probably fandoms, is like. I know that in the Kevin Sorbo fandom, there are 2 very distinct groups who don't get along with each other, and they are both Official fan clubs, but based in different parts of the world.
The bigger the celebrity, the more nuts they attract. *sigh*
What kind of nut registers another account on a forum so she could talk to herself under a different name? I'm glad I have not come into contact with that. That, needs psychiatric help.

| I think that's where some of the problems lie...when one gets official, then everyone fights against it.
I think that it would have been better if there wasn't an official group, and many owners of sites would have their heads on straight. There should only be an official group if started by the person and/or his/her people. Other than that, there shouldn't be an official anything. There is a great need for chill pill prescriptions. NO one site OWNS G, and he NEVER ASKED anyone to make a site, so he doesn't OWE anyone anything except doing his job. So if you're making a site, a group or page, thinking HE OWES you, (which I've heard SEVERAL TIMES from SEVERAL sites) then you have another thing coming. I've had to deal with owners of several G groups. Boy, the things that go on with some of them, would make the hairs on your neck stand up.
Sites should only be made because of your admiration for the person. You think that he/she is great and you want to tell everyone how wonderful said person is. It makes you happy to share. It makes you happy to talk with others about said person.
I used to be that way.
Maybe fans on the site are reflections of the owners? AHA! There is where the fault lies! I guess you have to be a little wacky to have a G site. Right DK?
