As some of you might know, I've been having some problems streaming to justin.tv during some test runs. I did a registry cleanup, scans, etc....including the removal of a rather NASTY virus I had on my computer....so hopefully this will solve the problem.

I'm doing a test run of the movie right now, and so far so good. I can't promise 100% that everything will go off without a hitch tomorrow, but I'm going to try anyway.

Let's keep our fingers crossed that this will work. If not, we can always move to chatbox or Bravenet.

Okay, it's lasted about an hour in before getting choppy this time, as compared to 5-10 minutes. Right now it's just sporadic. It does fine, then gets bad, then recovers again. Rolling Eyes

I have left feedback with the SeeToo people, and they're looking into it, but in the meantime....as of tonight, we have 2 options:

1) We can watch from Justin.tv, or;
2) Those who want to watch can download the movie and we can use the regular chat room, and watch from their PC.

Before the broadcast, please everyone that plans on attending check and see if it works for you. If not, please either indicate on the forum or via PM. I had to install a codec to get it to work, and I have that codec if anyone needs it. I still don't think it works for Firefox...only IE. Sorry.

The movie will play automatically for you, so anyone that wants to watch it beforehand, it's there. Once the actual movie chat starts, we can all synchronize our viewing.

Ok, I just opened it, and it looked like it was ok. Although my computer wanted to automatically download the movie screen. All these files started opening, and that doesn't usually happen when I watch stuff on my computer.

I may also be late tonight. Have another family funeral tonight and tomorrow, and I have a lot of relatives coming from Hawaii and other places out of town.

I think the problem lies in that the file is not being streamed, but rather downloaded...which I DON'T want.

I'm working on it now. Hang tight.

Okay, I'm not going to have this ready by tonight. Sorry everyone, but I don't think this movie chat is going to happen...at least not on the site specific page.

We can try on justin.tv, but I'm not very optimistic it's going to work. I've made the justin.tv page password protected. PM me if you want to chat there and I'll give you the password. If no one PM's me, I'll assume no one wants to watch the movie, and we'll postpone it until I can figure out when the hell is going on.

The movie can still be downloaded...I'll keep that liink up.

Okay, here's the deal. I got the movie and chat to work and stream off both my PC's, but not in Internet Explorer. It does, however, work in Mozilla Firefox.

You'll have to have Firefox and the DivX Web Player (link provided on chat page).

We can do a test run at 9pm tonight if anyone's interested. If it doesn't work, it doesn't work and it will be back to the old drawing board for me. But at least I'm making progress, it seems.

The DivX web player is free, by the way. I use it all the time....actually, I prefer it over Windows Media Player.

It's as closed as Bravenet. Wink

Meaning, others can join the chat, but they can do that in Bravenet as well. Lurkers can watch the movie, but they can't see the chat unless they log in. So while it isn't exactly prying eyes free, it's less lurker free than justin.tv.

I waited until about 9:30 and no one was there other than Leo, who couldn't get the movie to play, so we bowed out. Since I was in the middle of watching, I went ahead and finished. Then I just saw that Alice was in there, but as soon as I logged in, she logged out.

No one in chatbox or Bravenet, either. I'm beginning to get a complex and think no one wants to talk to me.

Anyway, the movie is good. At least download the thing...I went to about 3-4 days worth of trouble to even get the damn thing to run, because I thought everyone would like a movie chat.

Ah well....live and learn, I guess.

I was having trouble so I rebooted and had trouble rebooting, probably because of the divx program.
