A Seemed Contradiction of Philosophies

Okay, many of you might not agree with what I'm about to say, but that's okay because we're all entitled to our opinions.

I visit some of the Gerry fansites from time to time (once in a while, when I'm not busy here ), and tonight I ran across a thread on one of them that made me chuckle and shake my head. Apparently there was some discussion as to why a person would visit a site and watch a video that (in their opinion) seemed to be intrusive to Gerry, if they purport to be a fan. Okay, that's all well and good - again, personal preference and opinion. I respect that. Yet, when my eyes glanced over to their gallery, they had still pictures of the exact same thing. So why is a still picture of Gerry at a particular place - with cameras flashing and paparazzi scurrying about - any different than a video???? Intrusion is intrusion - rudeness is rudeness - whether or not the person is holding a video camera or a still camera. So why would you refuse to host a video of something, yet post pictures of the same thing? I sense a double standard here.

And another thing struck me as ironic....this person said they would not watch a video if they knew someone was being rude to Gerry. Well in heaven's name, how on earth would you know someone was being rude to him in the first place, unless you happened to WATCH THE VIDEO in the first place??? LOL! Okay, so maybe you got it secondhand from someone who did watch the video. But if that be the case, that's like me telling someone "you're bad for smoking", yet I intentionally breathe their secondhand smoke because I'm still craving the nicotine.

While I agree that certain vids should not be promoted, at the same time I'm not going to host the pictures on the gallery. One incident that comes to mind is the one from Robertson Blvd. last summer. Not only have I not posted the vid in multimedia, I haven't posted any pictures of it, either (and believe me, there are a LOT of them I could choose from).

And again, while I respect others opinions and stances in this matter, at the same time I don't understand the...well, I'm going to say it...hypocrisy of it all. Either take a stance, or don't take a stance for goodness sakes.

Uhhhh....the video of which DK speaks was posted for a good week at GALS as I recall. I've walked down Robertson Blvd. numerous times. It's in a well to do area of the Hollywood/Bev, Hills border. It is NOT a hangout for "razzi's.

After viewing the vid. ONCE, I saw nothing wrong. So, he was being followed by a bunch of camera's and ho's. Big deal. He's been in that situation hundreds of times. He's a big boy.

Then to pull the video with a lame explanation...then the usual suspects praising the decision....after pouring over it thousands of times, no doubt

To put it politely, I was scatching my head in confusion.

DK felt uncomfortable initially after viewing it. Most of the others felt uncomfortable after viewing the post by the owner deciding to pull it. IMO, there is a huge difference.
