Gerard has been relatively quiet on social media lately, not having tweeted since early November!

He is best known for his tough guy movie roles.

But Gerard Butler looked like he enjoyed a day off from being an action man.

The 46-year-old Scottish actor was spotted enjoying a relaxed day during a solo stroll in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

The 300 star was dressed comfortably for a chilly day in Southern California as he bundled up in a nice grey sweater knit sweater.

He also sported a heather grey T-shirt along with baggy olive green cargo trousers and black trainers.

Gerard had his short locks dishevelled and sported his signature scruff as he accessorised with aviator shades.

Despite the casual day, Gerard certainly appeared to be handling some business as she chatted away on his mobile during the outing.

Not seen during the occasion with the How To Train Your Dragon star was his girlfriend Morgan Brown.

As Gerard spent Christmas with his nearest and dearest in Scotland, he had what looked like a romantic reunion with his ladylove as they dined together at Cecconi's in West Hollywood on Tuesday.

The couple were first pictured together in July last year and have been mostly inseparable ever since.

Gerard has somewhat been tamed by the interior designer as he previously enjoyed a reputation as a bit of a ladies' man before striking up a relationship with her.

In the past, he's been romantically linked to Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Aniston and supermodel Naomi Campbell.

The action man can soon be seen showing off his muscular physique in upcoming fantasy adventure flick Gods Of Egypt.

Director Alex Proyas, known for his work in 1998's Dark City, has landed in some hot water as of late as he and production company Lionsgate issued an apology for lack of racial diversity in the flick.

Gods Of Egypt, which was filmed in Australia, is set to hit theatres in the US on February 26.
