He pumped up his body for 300 in 2006.

And Gerard Butler has been buff ever since, building up an impressive physique for a series of roles including the latest as Set in Gods Of Egypt, due out next April.

On Wednesday, the hunky 45-year-old showed off his impressive guns as he pumped gas in Malibu, California, so it's little wonder girlfriend Morgan Brown leaned in to nuzzle her beau's neck.

The actor's arm muscles rippled as he wrangled the pump hose and his green T-shirt was tight across his barrel chest.

The Olympus Has Fallen star teamed the T-shirt with a pair of baggy black sweats with white stripes down the outside of the leg and well worn white trainers.

Morgan, who is in her mid-thirties, showed off her slender figure in a long-sleeved blue T-shirt and skinny jeans that she tucked into cuban-heeled suede booties.

She covered her wavy red tresses with a black cap and she accessorised with a large pink bag covered in Indian designs.

Gerard has been happily dating the former model-turned-interior designer since last summer.

And in March it looked as if he may have taken things to the next level, as Morgan was seen wearing a large sparkler on her left ring finger in Malibu, where Gerard lives.

But there has yet to be official confirmation of an engagement.

Meanwhile, Gerard, who has talked of his longing to be a dad, has a chance to play happy families as Morgan has a nine-year-old son.

He has previously been romantically linked to Jessica Biel, Lindsay Lohan, Jennifer Aniston and Brandi Glanville.

The action hero will next be seen on screen in crime thriller London Has Fallen, the follow up to Olympus Has Fallen, which co-stars Morgan Freeman, Angela Bassett and Aaron Eckhart and debuts October 2.
