Hugo Boss Names Gerard Butler Brand Ambassador

HUGO BOSS’ BUTLER: Hugo Boss Parfums has tapped Gerard Butler as the brand ambassador for its Boss Bottled fragrance. Scheduled to air globally for fall, Butler will appear exclusively in a new TV and print campaign for the brand.

“Boss Bottled remains loyal to the belief that success comes to the man who grasps life with confidence,” said Guillaume Tardy, global marketing director of Boss Parfums. “Gerard Butler is that man. His road to success is a constant, ever-evolving journey, but one that he approaches with confidence and drive.”

Currently, Butler is reprising his role as Stoick in DreamWorks Animation’s “How to Train Your Dragon 2.” Also, the Scottish actor recently wrapped production of “Gods of Egypt” opposite Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, set to release February 2016. This will be Butler’s first appearance as an ambassador for a men’s fragrance.

Gerard Butler's Bagged His First Fragrance Campaign! He's The Face Of Hugo Boss Bottled

Gerard Butler has been revealed as the new ambassador for Hugo Boss Parfums. The Scottish actor will front the brand's Boss Bottled fragrance campaigns on TV and in print in the autumn.

Grazia Daily bumped in to Gerard outside the Hugo Boss show at New York Fashion Week so it seemed inevitable that he was going to work with the label this year. He's following in the footsteps of fellow swoonworthy actor Ryan Reynolds who's been the face of the perfume since 2010.

Gerard's known for his cheeky-chappy antics - and it seems his flirty and fun-loving attitude has paid off. Guillaume Tardy, global marketing director of Boss Parfums says he was selected because of his confident persona.

'Boss Bottled remains loyal to the belief that success comes to the man who grasps life with confidence,' says Guillaume. 'Gerard Butler is that man. His road to success is a constant, ever-evolving journey, but one that he approaches with confidence and drive.'

The Boss ads will be Gerard's first ever fragrance campaign and the actor's also busy with movies at the moment too. He's returning to character Stoick in DreamWorks Animation’s How to Train Your Dragon 2 and in 2016's Gods of Egypt.

Let's celebrate Gerard's new role by lookin back at his his best ever suited-and-booted moments of all time. We're talking the Golden Globes, swanky premieres and nights on the town.

Gerard Butler has been named brand ambassador for Hugo Boss Perfums.

The '300' star has teamed up with the luxury label to appear in the 'Boss Bottled' fragrance print and TV campaigns which will be revealed by the brand this autumn, reports WWD.

The German fashion house has snapped up Gerard to appear exclusively in the ads - which mark his modelling debut for the label - as the 44-year-old actor embodies the ''belief'' behind the fragrance.

Global marketing director of Boss Parfums, Guillaume Tardy said: ''Boss Bottled remains loyal to the belief that success comes to the man who grasps life with confidence.

''Gerard Butler is that man. His road to success is a constant, ever-evolving journey, but one that he approaches with confidence and drive.''

Meanwhile, the Scottish hunk - who recently reprised his role of Stoick the Vast in the hit Dreamworks Animation 'How to Train Your Dragon 2' - has revealed that the film's animators incorporated his characteristics into the movie by observing his actions and even lent his voice to the character.

Talking on US chat show, 'Late Night with Seth Meyers', he said: ''They put cameras all over the room when you're doing it and then they animate a lot of the parts with how you move and how you move your face.

''I've seen some examples of me doing this thing and in the movie it was exactly the same. Then you realise its pretty cool, and there was a lot of your mannerisms. I don't look like Stoick but I see in the parts where he's being idiotic and lost.''

The Strange, Revealing Case of Gerard Butler, Fragrance Model

Can we talk, for a moment, about Gerard Butler? You know, that beefy aging Scottish he-guy actor who tends to play boors who turn out to have hearts of gold in movies such as “The Bounty Hunter” (What? You didn’t see that one?) or super-bloody warriors in films like “300”? Well, he is the new face of Boss, the Hugo Boss men’s fragrance.

Which, when viewed on a macro scale (i.e., the fashion industry over all) strikes me both as one of the more bizarre brand-celebrity pairings in recent years — I mean, when Mr. Butler’s credits are listed, one of the first films that comes up is “How to Train Your Dragon 2,” which does not exactly scream “male pheromones!”— and when viewed on the micro level, pretty revealing of a fashion world reality.

To be more specific: While female A-list celebrities see beauty deals as career makers, A-list men do not.

Put another way, Gwyneth Paltrow is the face the women’s Boss perfume. In the power rankings of Paltrow and Butler, one of these names is not like the other.

And Boss is not the only brand to demonstrate the male-female face imbalance.

Givenchy just re-signed Simon Baker (the guy from that TV show “The Mentalist”) to front its men’s scent campaign — and Alicia Keys to do women’s.

Last year, Bulgari had Eric Bana (the sensitive “Hulk”) fronting its men’s scent and Carla Bruni-Sarkozy as brand ambassador.

Dior has Natalie Portman as the face of Blooming Bouquet — and Robert Pattinson, a.k.a. Mr. Twilight, back for Dior Homme. And so on. You get the picture. And it leads, it seems to me, to three possible conclusions:

1. B- and C-list male stars sell scent better than A-list male stars; or

2. A-list male stars do not see it as a good idea to sell scent; or

3. A-list men are crazy expensive, and brands do not think men’s fragrance is a big enough sector to merit the investment, so they have slid down the pay scale.

Given the obsession with the men’s market on the part of every company from Estée Lauder, my guess is that the correct answer to why the current situation looks the way it does is No. 2, but I could be wrong.

Anyway, it also suggests a fourth conclusion, which is worth noting: Clearly brands believe even B- and C-list male stars still sell scent to men better than male models. In the beauty world, the latter are D-list. Poor boys.

Suit you sir! Suave Gerard Butler is dressed to impress as he gets ready to party at the Chiltern Firehouse

By Mike Larkin

He is renowned for his love of dressed-down chic.

But Gerard Butler had obviously decided to dress to impress before turning up at the Chiltern Firehouse in London on Thursday.

The 44-year-old was looking as suave as they come when he emerged from his vehicle outside the popular celebrity nightspot.

Sharp dressed man: Every girl would have went crazy when suave Gerard Butler turned up at London's Chiltern Firehouse on Thursday

The Ugly Truth hunk was looking dapper in a grey two piece suit and white shirt, and won extra style points for eschewing current trends and wearing a smart black tie.

Other famous faces keen to welcome the back end of the week in style included Aussie pop star Natalie Imbruglia, Chiltern regular and Star Wars director J.J. Abrams and socialite Nancy Dell'Olio.

And it seemed Gerard was in the mood to have a good time for Gerry, who hails from glamorous Paisley in Renfrewshire, had a definite twinkle in his eye as he got ready to go indoors.

The Scottish stud has been racking up the air miles, and was most recently spotted partying at the World Cup in Brazil.

For the trip he was accompanied by Brazilian director, actor and producer Raul Guterres, who is known for his work in the 2006 horror film Paradise Lost.

Weathered: Luckily for craggy faced Gerry his wrinkles make him look even more handsome

Suit you sir: Fast Show tailors Ken and Kenneth would have approved of the actor's smart outfit

He was also spotted dancing with fellow actor Taylor Kitsch, 33, as the two enjoyed an evening on the roof of Hotel Budweiser in Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro.

Of course Gerry has every right to be relaxing, as he has three upcoming projects including the sequel to 2013 action film Olympus Has Fallen.

The beefcake is set to reprise his role as Mike Banning in London Has Fallen, which will be centered around London being under attack by terrorists.

The action flick is set for an October 2015 release and will also star Morgan Freeman, Aaron Eckhart, Radha Mitchell, and Angela Bassett.

Gerard Butler Hired To Sell You Hugo Boss Perfume

When you think perfume and luxury, is the first thing that jumps to your mind the glistening, cut abs of Gerard Butler in 300? Well, apparently that's what Hugo Boss is hoping for.

The 90-year-old luxury Germany fashion house has chosen the Olympus Has Fallen star to be their brand ambassador.

Butler, 44, will star in their "Boss Bottled" TV and print media advertising campaign beginning this winter, according to Business Standard.

Butler's involvement with Boss marks the actor's modelling debut for that label.

The Global Marketing Director for Boss Perfumes released a statement, reading, "Boss Bottled remains loyal to the belief that success comes to the man who grasps life with confidence. Gerard Butler is that man. His road to success is a constant, ever-evolving journey, but one that he approaches with confidence and drive."
