Los Angeles - Actor Gerard Butler plays the title role in "Machine Gun Preacher." The film is based of the real-life gun-wielding preacher Sam Childers, a man who traveled to Africa and started an orphanage.

On Thursday Gerard talked to us about playing "Sam Childers" and how the role forced him to examine his own demons.
