Anyone interested in a holiday card exchange?

What we can do is PM one person with our mailing addresses and they can send it to those interested, so we don't post our addresses here.

Tell ya what....I'll put an announcement in for people who want to be on the list to PM Alice. They can put their addresses and/or emails, along with a preference of which they'd prefer: email or snail mail.

I'm fine with getting E-cards, DK and Alice. I get quite a few Christmas cards already, believe me!

I offered to co-ordinate it but I won't be on holidays for a few more days so Alice took the jump!

How exactly are we doing it though? Does Alice draw it out of a hat (figuratively) and we each get to send and receive one card ... like a Secret Santa??

I put a scrolling announcement at the top of the page with Midnight on Monday, December 15 as a deadline. I suppose with the time differences it's not exactly 'set in stone', but at least it gives us a general deadline (ecards won't need that much of an advance notice anyway), so that no one is scrambling at the last second to get a card out to someone.

As far as the cards themselves go, I thought we were going to have everyone that was interested to include themselves on the list, and those members could send cards out to all the members on the list. We did something similar at GALS last year...of course, obviously there are a LOT more members on their list, and personally I couldn't afford to send cards to everyone so I had to pick and choose only those members I really knew (I was pretty new to the site at the time, too ). But here, we have a pretty manageable number of people.

The card list worked out very well at a church I used to attend. We did the list thingy there too, and people would just use that list to make out all of their cards, turn them into the pastor and his staff would divide them up by person/family. On that Sunday service, they would hand out the bundles of cards to the members. It was really great...just like getting a Christmas gift!

Of course we can't do them here like that, but I like the gesture of everyone on the list getting a card. It's especially special for those who might not get cards otherwise. I know from experience how a simple thing such as receiving a card from someone over the holidays can brighten up your spirit.

I have a few people from last year, who sent me cards after the holidays, so I owe some cards. But c'mon! How late in the season do you expect me to send cards?

I didn't remember the list on GALS and was wondering why I was getting cards from certain people.

I can bet that my list will be chopped in half this year. Just because of things going down.

LOL! Look at it this way...quantity isn't necessarily quality. I'd rather have 10 good, loyal and faithful friends than 150 fake ones.
