Gerard Butler to receive Actor of the Year award at Ischia Global Film Fest

Gerard Butler will receive the "Actor of the Year" award at the Ninth Annual Ischia Global Film & Music Fest being held in Ischia, Italy from July 10 - 17.

Butler will receive the award on Monday, July 11 during the Casamicciola Gala Dinner and Award ceremony. He will also participate in the Movie Educational Seminar - Pursuing freedom 'of expression with Paul Haggis.

In 2004, Butler received Ischia's Special Fashion Award, roughly translated as 'Best New Actor', for his work on the big screen version of Phantom of the Opera.

The festival founded and produced by Pascal Vicedomini, since 2003 involves the organization of Marina Cicogna, Enrico Lucherini, Franco Nero and for the music, Tony Renis. It was developed in collaboration with RAI, Radio Italian Television, Sky TV
