The Razzie Awards: in the midst of award season, this is the one time you don't want your name pulled from the envelope.

The nominations for the worst in the year of film were announced on Sunday night, with some big names getting some unwelcome recognition. Jennifer Aniston was nominated for Worst Actress for her role in 'The Bounty Hunter,' while counterpart Gerard Butler got a nod on the Actor side.

Overall, that film took home for nominations, but it was an underachiever compared to a few other duds: 'The Last Airbender' got nine Razzie noms, as did 'Twilight: Eclipse,' which "earned" nominations for leads Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart. Leading the way individually was Jessica Alba, who in just one year garnered a whopping four nominations for Worst Supporting Actress.

Looks like The Bounty Hunter got nominated for Worst Picture.
Jen got nominated for Worst Actress in TBH.
Gerry got nominated for Worst Actor in TBH.
And Jen and Gerry got nominated for Worst Screen Couple/Ensemble.

Ouch.

Well, I gotta tell ya, I have to agree with the Razzie people. TBH was embarassing to watch and I only watched it once.

How come the blurb didn't mention Ashton Kutcher or Barbra Streisand or Miley Cyrus or Sly Stallone or Liza Minnelli? They're all up for a Razzie, too.

I agree with GB and JA being Worst Screen Couple. Either they didn't do a screen test, or they picked the worst tested pair.

It wouldn't be too bad if Gman were nominated for some other project as best actor somewhere, and we're probably sure no one will really remember this next year and the following, but still.

Sandra Bullock got a razzie and an Oscar last year, didn't she? Was it for the same role?

I don't think there are as many bad actors out there as there are bad scripts and writers. I heard from a writer not too long ago that the writing part of the industry is as bad as the acting part...it's not what you know, it's who you know (to paraphrase). Hollyweird is so out of touch with reality and what the normal public wants, most of them wouldn't know a good script if it slapped them in the face. I really think they firmly believe they're putting out good stuff when in reality a lot of it is just fluff and crap. And let's be honest, a lot of the movie going public doesn't go to movies for how good the movie might be, but rather because the actor is "so hot", etc. And as long as they're doing this and the $$$ keeps coming in, the industry is going to assume it's quality - or at least not give a rip because they're lining their already greedy bulging pockets with cash.

I don't think the screenplay for TBH was bad. I like the movie and the plot, other than GB and JA. GB and JA are the bad parts of the movie.

Uwe Boll isn't up for a Razzie this year. Wow.
