Does anyone know when MGP or "Coriolanus" will premiere in the states, and where? Any inkling at all?

Was kinda hoping to pencil in some days off so that I might actually see THE dude in the flesh. LOL.

Do they release the movies so late in the year just so the awards people remember them? Seems like if they're ready for film fests, then they're ready to open for all people.

I believe that's the reason exactly, Julie, at least one of them. (Sometimes, I think it's also to avoid competing with other highly anticipated films due out at certain times.) I know some films that get nominated seem to be released in NYC and L.A. shortly before Dec. 31. My understanding is that they often want to wait until the last possible minute to release them that they can while still making the cutoff for that year to qualify for Oscars. The fresher the better in the memory of the Oscar voters.
