Men and women need each other!

My car broke down tonight on the side of the road. I just started calling and actually got more help than I need. I am home and my car is getting fixed thanks to my buddies.

I may be old fashioned but I think men and women complement each other so much. They rescue me from the side of the road and I make pie and cupcakes.

Oh, they have agreed to a Gerard Butler film festival tomorrow night. I could be depressed and worried about my car but I am home with my buddies. It's not the weekend that I planned but it could be so much worse!

Life is sweet even when fate tries to slip in some sourness!

What a great thing to talk about.

It always bothered me when women around me would talk about guys like trash, especially those who were married.

I don't like to hear bad things about men from women, or vice versa. We know we're different. That's the beauty of it.

I think American TV, especially sitcoms really emphasize a lot of the ugliness and lack of respect towards the sexes. And between parents/adults and children.

But that's just my soap box opinion.

I agree. I also think they portray most male/female friendships as full of sexual tension. I think we all know that not all of them are.

Women have great gifts. I learn a lot from all of you here.Men have their gifts, too. And I learn a lot from the guys.

Nicey nice things don't make good drama and aren't funny or mean. Trash is. I miss The Cosby Show and Diff'rent Strokes and Family Ties and One Day at a Time.

I try really hard to not mention husband a lot. He has good points and bad points. So far the good points outweigh the bad points and he's still my husband. Hopefully he can say the same about me.

I think it's important in life to remember that we need each other. After I had so many people die last year, I shut myself off a lot emotionally. And watching PSILY helped me come alive again. I went back to my real calling in life and I stopped doing things on the weekend that I had grown to dislike like wedding singing. I am a lot happier.

Some people think you show weakness when you lean on others but I see it as a strength when someone asks for help or just a shoulder to cry on. I have been blessed with a lot of support and I am beginning to think I will have to spend a few years of mission work in the Conga just to make things even. And I hate hot weather!

You wanna do mission work? Donate to or volunteer at the your local food banks, clothes banks, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, day shelters, animal shelters, hospitals, nursing homes, Big Brothers & Big Sisters, etc.

I'm a big believer in "charity begins at home".

LOL! I am always making faux pas like that. I will have to share the funnier ones in our next chat!

I am only dancing for fun now because I had forgotten it was fun!

Julie--that's my next personal challenge because in all seriousness, I am with you. I pass a charity every day that has its weekly need posted. It's never anything expensive. I am going to start dropping some things off when I can.

Great idea about helping out at home!
