PostSubject: What are you grateful for?   What are you grateful for? Icon_minitimeSat Nov 15, 2008 10:57 pm

Every year I try to write a list on my blog about the things that I'm thankful for. It's not completely serious, because you can be grateful for whatever it is that makes your day.

Actually, I forgot to write one last year....great!

But my list the year before went something like this:

I'm thankful for a supportive family. It's been a hard year but we've managed to survive even when we are all far away.

I'm thankful for the old friends I have that keep my chin up and the new ones that add to my life.

I'm thankful that I can do the things I want to...that I don't have difficulties getting around.

I'm thankful for my health, although it's been a tough ride this year.

I'm thankful for my job. Yeah, I yell and scream and stress, but it pays for the fun times and the responsibilities.

I'm thankful for my beliefs. Without them, I'd be lost without any hope and what's life without hope?

I'm thankful for music....it brings me joy when my friends aren't around.

I'm thankful for the internet, which keeps me connected to people who I would never in a million years, ever meet.

I'm thankful for my new/used car. It came in the nick of time, only by a God given miracle.

I'm thankful for good food, because it can quickly get rid of stress.

I'm thankful for digital cameras, because it provides me with long lasting memories.

I'm thankful for inspiration. It makes me really happy when something new pops in my head.
***********
What's funny is that this year's list is going to be sooooo different than that list, if any of you know the things I've been going through. lol!

I'll work on mine, but go ahead and list whatever it is you are grateful for.

I'm thankful for my immediate family. I have two fine healthy teen boys who are nice polite and helpful.

I'm thankful for my Husband because he is a wonderful man that I do not deserve. He is my God given gift to help me though all that we have been through together.

I'm grateful for everything in my life. Espcially that which pains me.
Pain molds me into a stronger and better person and is the stepping stone on a bumpy road.

I am grateful that I have such a strong, loving and humorous child.

I am very grateful that I will be starting a new job in a week.

I'm tired and can't think of anything else right now.

If pain makes you stronger then I should be able to arm wrestle King Leo and win.

1. I'm thankful for the true friends who have stuck by me even when I was being a b*tch, and didn't abandon me when I needed them most.

2. I'm thankful to God for providing me a way to buy a car, and to sell the one I had without having to make any more expensive repairs on it. That was a miracle in itself! I went from having nothing, to having enough to put as a down payment, pay the taxes, and a little somethin somethin for me. Smile

3. I'm thankful that my parents are still alive, and that I have two brothers and their families to spend holidays with (even though they get on my last nerve...LOL).

4. I'm thankful for a better paying, less stressful job than I had this time last year. Again, that was another miracle!

5. I'm thankful to God for sticking by me and making a way for me even though I mess up and fubar on Him so much. His love is so unconditional...He continues to floor me each and every day! I love you

Hmmm ... this is connected to that 'Turkey Event' isn't it?? Very Happy

So as a non-American, I'll add some random ones anyway.

I'm grateful I can still remember the words to 'American Pie'.
I'm grateful I can laugh at the small mindedness of people.
I'm grateful Kermit the Frog is not real because he could be my soul-mate.
I'm grateful my parents didn't name me Geraldine.

I'm grateful that Helena can't snog me because I don't think she'd be gentle.
I'm grateful I don't have a 'big hair' problem. Or a 'big hairy' problem for that matter. Or anything hairy in fact.

Gives a whole new meaning to "tastes like chicken".

I am also thankful for men.
I love men.
I love the way the smell, the way they touch, the way they kiss...
...the way they look at you just before they're about to come...

I don't know why that line made me cry.

I don't want to make you cry unless it's with laughter, Leo. Kermit is shorter than me and I'd get a kink in my neck leaning down to snuggle if he was, you know, a sex pot.

Besides, my hand would be you-know-where all the time. Eww! Shocked

Alice, we don't have a day of thanksgiving per se. Instead, most people celebrate Australia Day on January 26th with something distinctly 'Aussie' like a bbq or citizenship ceremony or lamington bake-off or two-up game or water ski or ... or ... or ... my personal favourite - a sleep-in.

Back on topic - I'm grateful that I am not allergic to pizza.

No worries, Nay. I'm much better now. It's just that "The Rainbow Connection" is my mantra. God bless a gentle heart.

Oops, it has sunk a little hasn't it? What are you grateful for? 161203 I blame Oggs. She starts everything in my eyes ... her or DK ... or Helena.

Really, it's all of you as opposed to me ... *flutter, flutter*
