Speaking of JJ, have you visited the Gerry threads over there lately? What the heck happened, did the various Gerry board/forum rejects take over? It's like "regulars" vs. "newbies" over there. Absolutely ridiculous...

My, my, it's rough in there. There's one comment that I actually laughed out loud at. You might know the one. But, truly, good old common sense should tell celebs to stay away and let the professionals do their work.

Unfortunately, I have to agree that the Haiti situation has become a "fad" of sorts for some celebs. And if a celeb or others have to publicize the "great things" they are doing, then it cancels out that "great thing".

One more thing, if it's true what they're saying that Gerry is going to Haiti with JA, then, unfortunately, I, like someone else said on the comments, will lose some respect for him, caus' if that isn't a PR move, then I don't know what is. I hope it's not true.

Haiti needs more celebrities. All the starving injured ragged homeless people need to see more beautiful well-dressed well-fed rich people staring at them and showing them pity and shaking their hands and taking pictures of them to show to the whole world, and eating real meals while they fight over a grain of rice. The professional medical, construction, rescue, security, counseling workers need more beautiful well-dressed pampered manicured pedicured artists helping them to do their jobs.

I'm sending canned foods to my local programs to help feed my local kids who don't have food to eat other than government subsidized school lunches.

Our local needies need our help. Their plights aren't sexy or newsworthy or PR worthy. It's never a fad and no media will applaud your efforts. No school or building will be named after you. Please help them anyway even though their pictures aren't shown all over the world and celebrities aren't jetting in to assess the situation.

I feel bad for the Haiti victims. Yes, it's a terrible thing, but shit happens everywhere all the time. I'm sick of the fad bandwagon.
