Ricky was irreverent, that's for sure. He made a slam about Mel Gibson's drinking, too. I'm not sure Mel was too pleased, but he took it in stride.

Surely, unless he improvised, they would both have heard how Gervais referred to them in rehearsals.

I don't know if they go through all the lines in rehearsal. More like learning which stage entrance, who they follow, where to stand, and which stage exit.

Ricky said a lot would be improvised. I don't know if that part was, but he probably kept a lot of his act a secret. I doubt they knew what he was going to say beforehand, but if they did, they seemed a little "in the moment" about it.

Getting back to Senor Butler ...... I thought he actually looked quite age/experience appropriate in that Dolce & Gabbana suit with the touch of grey peeking through. Loved the satin lapels.
