Gerard Butler Befriends Topless Dancer at Club

Not everyone was grossed out by the shirtless pics of Gerard Butler looking all flabby last week.

In fact, he was a big hit with the ladies at Voyeur nightclub in West Hollywood on Saturday.

"Gerard was with his usual wingman and best friend from New York. They make a great tag team and kept busy flirting with all types of beautiful women," our spy tells us.

The Scot seemed "intrigued" by the topless dancers at the club and waited until closing to meet one special lady.

"Gerard had his eye on a dark-haired, olive-skin[ned] girl from early on in the night," according to the eyewitness. "She danced on a small stage by his table and made eyes at him with an attempt of getting him to notice her, and it worked!"

So what was his big opening line?

"Hi, I'm Gerry," he reportedly said. "You are very good at what you do."

What a charmer!

The dancer seemed "thrilled" and sat down at his table after covering up with a blazer.

The club then closed to everyone except Gerard and his small entourage. Shutterbugs anxiously waited outside for a shot of the star for a while, but according to our souce, the actor somehow evaded the waiting paps.

I think the nightclub thread was from the 7th, which was last Thursday. The stripper club night was Saturday night. I know, it's hard to keep up, isn't it?

I continue to be amazed at the lengths some will go to defend Gerry's antics. Someone on another board suggested that Gerry might have been at that strip club to do "research" for his upcoming movie about the preacher guy, who was supposedly a womanizer...and that perhaps he was 'talking business' with the stripper. Come on, the last thing on that man's mind that night was his career (unless it was to use it to score another kind of "business" with her).

Nay, my clothes hang in my closet. Smaller clothes go in dresser drawers. My cups go in my kitchen cabinets. Stored room temperature food go in my pantry or kitchen cabinets. My car used to fit in my garage but now sits in my driveway. My car battery goes under the hood, and my spare tire goes in the trunk. For safety, pedestrians walk on sidewalks. In tall buildings we use escalators and elevators to save time going up and down. My fanny is behind me.

I hope the stripper and the club owner charge him lots of money. It is quite possible that Gerry asked the stripper for dancing and stripping tips.

What's wrong with a straight men ogling jiggling female boobs and butts? Seems like very normal behavior to me. Besides, he ogling boobs and butts that want to be ogled, not date-raping someone.

I hate celebrities. Especially Gerard Butler.

Talk to me. Tell me that I'm wrong, because honestly...I WANT to be wrong. I want to believe that for the most part, celebrities are just like you and me. Sure, they have the occasional break-down or the short (if unsuccessful) stint in rehab. But they're people too! Right? Or...and just go with me on this...could it be possible, that celebrities have this all-consuming sense of entitlement and therefore behave like total assholes just for the hell of it? Ding Ding Ding! Well guess what? Male celebrites far outweigh female celebrities on the "I'm really obnoxious" scale. I kid you not.

Don't get me wrong. We'll always have our Lindsay Lohans and the Tara Reids of our day. Those kind of girls will never go away, and we're happy about that. They're the type of "friend" to us that really makes us feel better about ourselves. While flipping through an US Weekly we can make comments like, "Wow, what a hot mess" and "She did what?!" just to make ourselves feel better. Those kind of stories and images really lay down the foundation for What Not To Do As A Woman. And we take it to heart! ...Sometimes at least.

But the men...ugh the men! Male celebrities are just downright pathetic. Because, similar to an average Joe, they rule their lives with the smaller head on their body. Ya know...the one down there. Now we've all come to accept this about men (or at least table the conversation for a later date), yet we have to keep in mind we're dealing with a celebrity here. SO just to spice things up, famous males have a tendency to add a kick of finely-tuned arrogance that undoubtedly stems from years of being lied to about their so-called talent. Fine. But don't expect me to sit quiet about it. I don't care if you're a celebrity. Do NOT look at me like I'll be your next meal.

Saturday night presented itself with an interesting opportunity to observe a single, male celebrity in a state of desperation. Gather 'round, kids, for I've got a story to tell!

I walk into a bar in Hollywood with my boyfriend, roommate and a few friends. Oddly enough I was setting up one of my girl friends with a guy I had met at the airport. Romance can happen in all sorts of locations, ladies, so don't be close-minded! I thought they would have hit it off so we all decided to get together at the Piano Bar. After having arrived and settled in with a few drinks and bubbly conversation, my roommate whispered to me that Gerard Butler was there. I'm not going to lie, I had to flip through my virtual index of male celebrities in my brain. I had no idea who this guy was. Oh! Wait...he's that guy in...no wait a minute that wasn't him. After trying for a few minutes to figure out what movie I may have seen him in, I gave up. Not worth my energy. But now I've worked up an appetite and a deep thirst.

So I walk up to the bar with my boyfriend and order 2 drinks. Two for me. None for him. (Hey, he was driving that night! Don't judge.) And as we were walking towards the back of the room I casually glance up and lock eyes with one Gerard Butler standing less than a foot away from my face. A little close there, buddy. A LITTLE close. Personal space is a concept that clearly escapes this man. But ok, whatever. I walk right passed him and safely outside on to the patio. Wow. I feel like I was just mentally undressed by Gerard Butler. Wait...what?!

Ok Gerard Butler. Easy does it. This man was on the PROWL Saturday
night and nothing and no one was going to stop him. I could see that as I'm sure everyone else did. But that STARE! I've never experienced anything that turned my stomach so quickly. And this wasn't
just a once-over, folks. This was a long, slow, up and down glare.
Ladies who have been in a bar on any given Saturday night in Hollywood: you know the type I'm talking about. With this cocky, i'm-the-bomb
type of attitude, he might as well have held up a sign that said, "Hi, I'm staring. I hope thats alright with you. But if not, hey, that's ok because I really don't care. I'm a celebrity."

And you know what adds to his creepy factor? He didn't even walk into the bar with anyone. No One. Since when don't celebrities have a posse?! Bizarre. Flying solo and obviously looking to get laid? Yikes! Not winning any points with me, Mr. Butler. Celebrity or not...I'll pass, thanks.

Maybe her clothes didn't match from head to toe. Or she had toilet paper stuck to her shoes. Or she almost walked straight into him. It's been years since anyone looked at me that way, except for hubby hopefully. No celebrity every looked at me that way. Bar or not, I would never interpret the way a man looks at me as mentally undressing me. What a big ego she has!

I didn't realize going to a bar alone is creepy. I think that blogger is a jerk.

I'm sorry, but I'm going to be blunt. The woman who wrote this blog sounds like an egotistical raging bitch. So a hot guy looked you up and down. Some of us can only dream of that. She thinks pretty highly of herself.

I think her point was that he made her uncomfortable with what she perceived as an invasion of her personal space and the look - which gave her the creeps. Probably the fact that he was there alone fueled her perception.
It's funny how different people see different things. Many fans have stated that he looks intensely and directly in their eyes. They love it. Maybe it comes across as creepy in a bar along with the "body sweep".
But I have to say, I have experienced the same thing from men who aren't famous - and it is uncomfortable. Men are men, and they sometimes forget their manners.

If she doesn't want to be stared at, maybe she should stop frequenting nightclubs. Most are nothing more than meat markets.

That being said, I get stared at in grocery stores, Wal Mart, on the street, in the car, walking down the street, etc. And while sometimes it is uncomfortable, I do find it flattering. I'd rather people find me attractive than not.

She and bf walked into GB's personal space. GB looked at her, who walked to less than a foot away from his bod, with 2 drinks in her hands.

Yah, she almost walked into him carrying 2 drinks. Maybe GB was expecting her to hand him a drink. Or hoping to not get soaked.

Nay, I think that if she almost walked into him, she wouldn't have felt that he was invading her personal space. But who knows, the blog doesn't go into a second by second account. But if I almost walked into someone and he wasn't moving, I wouldn't criticize him for standing close to me. Maybe he was walking towards her at the same time. (She posted more in the comments, but I don't care enough to see if she clarified more.) Whatever - He creeped her out, enough that she blogged about it. She was with her boyfriend and she thought Gerry seemed like an ass. Maybe she's sensitive, maybe she's unstable, or maybe he was in the wrong. Stuff is gonna happen when you frequent bars - perceptions and all that. It's not the first time Gerry has had unflattering things blogged about with regard to his bar and club behavior -- true or not.

I looked in the comments. She said GB was standing at the top of the ramp as she and her BF were walking up the ramp. Then she looked up and locked eyes with him.

I think the first sentence of her blog says a lot about her:
