| Thanks, ladies! And PJ, it took some work to get him to both wear the hat and hold still long enough for me to take a picture. I think he finally collapsed in his little crate figuring he'd just lie there and let me take the pic and get it over with!

| I have been MIA for the past few days with a horrible sinus infection and bronchitis, but thankfully am improving enought to enjoy the holidays. We will be leaving tomorrow for Baton Rouge to spend Christmas with our family there this year. But I wanted to come on and wish each and every one of you a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS, and I hope Santa is good to all of you. Have a very wonderful, and very safe (for any of you who may be traveling during the holidays) Christmas.

| Had about six inches of snow here, so I decided not to travel to my nephew's. I could have gotten there, but didn't want to drive back after dark. Twenty miles of the drive are on a hilly, twisty, country road. Not the sort of thing I enjoy in a winter snow/ice flurry. But I know I can see them later.
So I spent the afternoon with my brother and his wife instead. Had a nice day.
Today I'm making a large pot of vegetable beef soup, doing laundry, and watching TV. Back to work tomorrow. | |

| I treated Christmas as a normal day because mine is a little delayed ie. when relatives arrive back from down south. Then, I'll whip out the pudding and presents! Instead, the pup and I went for two walks and a drive, had a nap, rang a few peoples etc.
Like you, the weather has ultimately interfered with plans to get out and about. Yesterday (Boxing Day), the heavens dumped about 120 mms (3 inches for you northern folk). That made everything soggy and humid. Last night, the mosquitos were in attack mode and the ceiling fan was on full power. Today, we are meant to receive more - approximately 200 mm. Two lows/rain depressions in far northern QLD are causing all of the trouble.
Some poor travellers spent their Christmas caught between two flooded areas, couldn't go back, couldn't go on. Homes have been inundated with water and mud and one idiot stopping to take a photo was taken for a ride in his car by the moving water! Said idiot clambered out through a window and was then told by the Police his mother would be more concerned about his safety as opposed to be pissed off about her car.
