I love it! Laughing

The verbiage is a little hard to read, though.

Thanks, Bonnie! A very nice person named Aysun at another site made it for me. She was cool enough to let me use it here too. I just gave her the pictures I wanted and told her what I was looking for, and she made my siggy. I love it!

I don't have Photoshop, but I have other packages, such as Paint Shop Pro and GIMP, can anyone offer any tips on doing the picture and layer merging technique. I have tried it but I keep getting jagged edges around the outline of my pictures.

You have to clean up the outer edges of your pictures, pixel by pixel if necessary.

Is that the main difference between PSP and Photoshop?

I have PSP and I really dislike having to clean up the edges because I'm not that stable with the pictures I have to work with.

I know that some packages have a feathering technique when you make a selection - the trouble is that I get confused, knowing when to invert selections etc... sorry if I sound a bit technical. I tend to use PSP a fair bit, but I also have paint.net. I have yet to get to grips with paint.net. It seems to be very popular and talked about in glowing terms, but I have as yet to see it beat PSP or GIMP. I think that GIMP beats the lot, hands down, as it is the nearest thing to Photoshop and yet it costs nothing.

I use Photoshop. If I want a really clean cutout, I zoom in the picture as much as possible, then clean it pixel by pixel. The feathering feature is nice but it eats into the picture.

Photoshop has a Magic wand that selects similarly colored pixels, either in a continuous area, or not. You can set the percentage of difference from the color (pixel) selected. That helps a lot in clipping.

I've heard that GIMP is a lot like Photoshop, and free.
