Well I can't confirm the "hand in hand" "cocktails" etc. part, but I do know there were a couple of people on Twitter over the weekend that said they saw Gerry and Jen at some sort of party or something.

Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler were seen "hand in hand" this weekend at The Jane Hotel in Manhattan's Meatpacking District, a source tells PEOPLE. The two are currently filming The Bounty in New York City.

"Jen and Gerry went out on Saturday night," says the source, who, noting that the cozy couple were surrounded by such others as Kirsten Dunst, also said Aniston and Butler "had cocktails and … They were hand in hand."

The newest "in" spot, The Jane has been attracting the likes of Mischa Barton and Kate Winslet, among others.

According to another source, Aniston, 40, and Butler, 39, were also spotted dining on the Lower East Side at Freemans, another hot spot, before cozying up at the hotel lounge.

A lot has been made of Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler having a budding romance off the set of “The Bounty,” including a piece today that they were seen “hand in hand” on Saturday night at a lounge inside The Jane Hotel in New York.

Still, a friend of Butler’s joked to Gossip Cop that Butler is a “hands-on guy,” and added that the source was “not saying it could never happen, but as of [now] — absolutely not.” The pal said the two play an ex-husband and wife who rekindle their romance in the movie, but that’s where it ends, and that Butler’s recently had a few “lady friends.” And just a few days ago, Aniston’s rep told Gossip Cop talk of a romance was “not true.”

Oh What The Hell. It's Been Awhile Since I Posted A Jennifer Aniston Dating Story

Over the weekend at some point Gerard Butler held Jennifer Aniston's hand. It could have been because she had a splinter. It could have been because everyone at the table stood in a circle and sang Kumbaya, or it could have been he was checking to make sure she washed her hands before dinner. Whatever the reason and whatever the length of time this happened, the fact is the two actually held hands which of course means they are having sex and already planning the wedding and the babies and Brad will be devastated and the weeks of headlines which are sure to follow the hand holding which occurred this weekend.

Although I don't doubt for a second that Gerard Butler would have sex with Jennifer Aniston I do hope that she realizes like the rest of the world realizes that Gerard Butler is probably not the guy who is going to give you a rock solid, long lasting monogamous relationship. If you need some sex on a Tuesday night, Gerard is the guy you want to call, but if you are looking for a commitment longer than a porno than he is probably not your guy.

Of course the fact he is not that kind of guy works out great for the tabloids because then they can have the inevitable month of headlines talking about Jen's broken heart and how she ran to Brad's arms for comfort. Ohhhh, or John Mayer. Because he finally grew up because he realized Jen was the one for him forever and he didn't want her to disappear from his life again until of course Jessica Simpson took him back at which point he dumped Jennifer again and then she can hook up with whatever co-star she is working with at that moment.

We’ve been calling for it, waiting for it…

And now it comes.

Jennifer Aniston was hit hard last week. Magazine covers calling her pathetic, Bradley Cooper calling her “not natural”, Renee Zellweger trumping her ass in the battle for Hollywood’s summer box office sensation.

And then Brad Pitt wins at the box office.

So you knew come Monday she’d have to find away to matter again.

And here it is, posted at prime web time 10:15am EST, an article on People.com, of course!, about Jen and Gerry Butler holding hands on Saturday night at The Jane Hotel, enjoying cocktails after dinner.

By the way, you know Gerry’s next movie The Gamer is due out on September 4th, right?

Of course Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler are a couple. Blind Albanian orphans could have predicted this one.

Although, to be fair, that does depend on your definition of the word couple. According to reports, Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler were seen strolling around hand in hand, but remember that acting is a very tactile profession. Other reports say that they’ve spent a lot of time in Jennifer Aniston’s trailer, but that could mean they were just learning lines.

And other reports suggest that Gerard Butler is Jennifer Aniston’s newest male co-star, in which case they’re DEFINITELY doing it.

To be a male co-star in a Jennifer Aniston film is to give yourself up to the powerful unseen forces of the media, who’ll bump and buffer you around with wild accusations that you’ve become romantically involved with her. It’ll damage your reputation, break your heart and leave you being scrutinised in a way that you’ve never been scrutinised before. On the plus side, though, you’ll probably get to have sex with Jennifer Aniston a bunch of times, so it can’t be all bad.

And that’s more or less the situation that Gerard Butler finds himself in now. For weeks there’s been speculation that he’s fallen for Jennifer Aniston on the set of The Bounty, and it’ll be a new experience for him. Oh, we’re so confused! Are Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler a couple or not? This is easily the most important question about two people who we’ve never met, have no personal investment in and often spend entire weeks not even thinking about that we’ve ever had! Someone has to tell us if it’s true or not!

What’s that? Wait for The Bounty to be theatrically released so that their flirtation can get a little more overt so that they can break up in public around the time that it comes out on DVD? Oh, OK.
