Have you ever stopped and breathed in a truly joyful moment? A simple moment filled with clean air, good health, zero stress and alertness?

Last Friday, my car went in for a long service - complicated engine stuff. Instead of asking the mechanic or a friend to give me a lift home, I chose to walk. Luckily for me, it was a long walk (6kms) with various gardens and animals, sweet smells, shop window browsing, a clear crisp blue sky and sun shining warmly on a winter's day.

It felt great to be alive and kicking.

Count me in with the wimps.

I can get just as joyful setting in a lounge chair, under a shade tree (on grass that someone else has been paid to cut) with a tall glass of lemonade and a handful of kittens to watch at play.

I can't even do the shade tree thing here anymore. When you open the door and step outside the humidity BLASTS you in the face. Feels....literally....like you are walking into a wet sauna.

Actually the only time I did that Saturday was when a storm was blowing up. Watched the storm clouds until the first drop of rain splattered. Of course it made the sauna feeling even worse. I'm planing on staying in the rest of the week.

Your weather sounds lovely to me, NayNay. I can stand the heat ok.....but the humidity is like hell on earth.

Hahaha! I have chairs that look exactly like that sitting outside my apartment door right now waiting on my brother to come collect them. He left them with me until he could move them into his new place. He's been in his new place for a while now, and knowing my brother, I'm not holding my breath that he's going to make an effort to come back and get them....Oh well, I'll just hold his ice chest that I borrowed hostage until he's ready to get his chairs too.

If they're even really still there.....am I sure I saw them? Hmmm, maybe I should ask my neighbors if a suspicious woman with an Australian accent hauled anything off our floor recently.... Suspect

Out of curiosity, what type of timber are your decking boards? I'm using merbau hardwood to make my garden pathways. Lovely dark colour.

Shar, sometimes holidays just need to be times of quiet. Don't feel guilty for that.

I've read the first of the Potter novels and that was it, Julie. Didn't take to them at all.

I didn't watch the first half until a couple of weeks ago, for the same reason. Some theaters are showing them back to back, or at least they were the opening night. Part One before midnight and Part Two after. That's too much movie at once for me. So watch Part One on tv and then go see Part Two.

Random: Still WAY too hot to be outside very long here. Heat advisories every day this week. It might cool off a bit next week, but I'll be back to work.
