Thanks for the advice, ya'll. I've just never liked people setting me up. I prefer to get to know someone on my own. I found out he's from my mother's country, which means a huge cultural difference in dating, and that's a complete turnoff to me at my age. There's no holding hands in public, no kissing, no hugging, you get the picture. Your boyfriend is just a friend until you are married. My mother is going to talk to her friend about the family to see if we are related in anyway, which is my #1 excuse to not go out with him. But I'll meet him and go from there. Sigh...

I guess I should be proud that my mother's friend doesn't know how old I really am and thinks I can get away with a 24 year old.

that's what i was thinking....you should be proud that someone thinks that you would be a good fit for a 24 yr old!

someone recently told me that no one knew how old i was because i didn't look my age and i acted like an 18 yr old. i think they were trying to insult me.
