I didn't know we did either, Sami, at least not this far up north. There is the New Madrid fault that starts in southern Illinois and goes into Missouri, I think. But the news is saying that we don't have a fault line up here.

We're all ok, we were just a little spooked, after we found out what it was. Thanks for asking.

we had a tiny little tremor down here a few years ago. we don't have them either....and no one knew what it was!! (at first!) glad you are ok!!

I know how that feels, we had an earthquake and a few aftershocks about a year ago. Not being used to it, it puts you on edge, doesn't it?

Speaking of Mother Nature...I was going in to pick up my lunch today, and a big chunk of ice slid off the roof and onto my back. Had it been a fraction of a second earlier, it would have landed on my head.

It's snowing in Dallas. We are supposed to get 9 inches, and have already gotten over 6 inches. They are saying this is the biggest snowstorm to hit Dallas since something like 1979. The flakes are huge, like cornflakes falling....

I hate cold weather.

the weather folks are saying we are going to have snow here tomorrow, too. we'll see. the schools are already closing. sigh.

we rarely had snow days when i was a kid. now? if the wind blows hard they close the schools. lol!

Random: I have returned home to the sound of chainsaws.
There are tree limbs down everywhere - everywhere but my house. My neighbors have lost huge limbs. My gigantic trees are fine (thank you to the arborist who I had tend to my trees several years ago).

I am preparing my house for some guests. My friends have no power and are going to try to stay the night at their own house, but may head over if it gets too cold (or they get too bored). They are going to dinner and then out. Maybe they will have power later, but they are saying many will be without power throughout the weekend. And there are over 200,000 homes without power in the metroplex....not good.

I guess it sets the mood for the Opening of the Winter Olympics tonight.

(Have a mentioned how much I hate cold weather? Ugh.)

We had record snowfall. Most in a 24 hour period in Dallas.. The weight of the snow is snapping trees and power lines.

I went to a women's fair today and got a makeover. The makeup looks good but smells slightly like a skunk. What kind of makeup smells like a skunk?!!

Oh, and I'm drinking a chocolate banana and peanut butter milkshake from Braum's right now. I highly recommend them. They'll change your life.
