I am pleasantly surprised to see that she has only really lovely, nice things to say about her time with Gerry. She sounds like a class act. And her comments kind of help confirm for me my gut instinct that Gerry has the ability deep down to be a class act too. If he could just live a life that wasn't so saturated with the artificial world of a Hollywood lifestyle, maybe he could be more in touch with his higher nature more often. Laurie seemed to see evidence of that capacity in him. So maybe my instincts are not so delusional after all.

And she also confirms for me the reason I often say I take the accounts in the media about his antics with a grain of salt. Some things written about him may be true. Some may be completely false. And still others may have some truth but are skewed by the writer's viewpoint or the viewpoint of the supposed "source". How many times do we see articles say he has been "linked" to women (Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Aniston, Jessica Biel) that there is no real evidence he dated, and in some cases, flat out denials on his part that he did? Yet all the articles have to do is use the term "linked". It covers their asses by saying someone else linked them, not the writer. While at the same time, knowing that many people reading the article will not think to make that distinction.

The reality is, we really don't truly know the guy. Or his true character. Or the validity of all of his rumored antics. (With the exception of the ones we were able to see for ourselves anyway.) I'm just happy to see a woman who, as far as I can tell, really did know him say such nice things about him.

He has reason to be cautious. I would be cautious to if I had people chasing me while I take my dog out for a walk, grab a cup of java, or wanted the pleasure of recreational activities. But that's the price you pay when you hit fame and fortune, especially hollywood. Kinda makes you get claustaphobic.

His relationships are his business and no one elses. I like his work. As a person, I can't say.. I have never met him in person. Even if I did, I still can't say, do not know him well enough to make those kinds of assessments. Even if I did, I still wouldn't say.

He is just a man who entertains for a living.. He puts his pants on one leg at a time just like every other person.

He is an actor and he does very well. I like it.

Helena, just because you aren't a celebrity doesn't mean you aren't a "somebody". You are just as important as any other human being, famous or not. The only difference between celebs and us is that more people know who they are (well, okay, and they usually make a ton more money), but that's it. Like Julie wrote, we see you.
