I do my best to distribute the decorations evenly around the tree. I take after my Dad that way. I usually go over board, but not this year. Having a hard time getting into the Christmas spirit.

But the tree is decorated, and kitten proofed. At least I hope it is. hahahaha!

I got almost all of my Christmas shopping completed. I only have to buy for one more person.

On another note, I completely forgot to buy a snow shovel and salt while I was at the store. It was on my list, and I still forgot. Then again, if we get the ice storm they're predicting tomorrow evening and Monday, I get the feeling a shovel isn't going to do me much good anyway. Rolling Eyes

If I can't get to work, then I'll have to use my last vacation day on Monday instead of the day after Christmas. Sad

After I finished my shopping, I rewarded myself with a trip to Starbucks for a latte and some chocolate covered expresso beans (which I'm snacking on right now). I might be bouncing off the walls in a bit.

On a more cosmic note ... I have been biking each morning and evening this week on holidays. Trying to build strength and body tone before Christmas temptations arrive. Whilst I have a short 3km circuit mapped out, it's become more the "who" than the "where" that's capturing my attention.

Each morning and evening, I pass by what seems to be a small microcosm of society. The lonely old man I wave to and who waves back always with a ciggie in one hand; the old, stoic, truckie-hat wearing Maltese woman who nods at me; the couple who hold hands while walking; the lanky 70+ year old guy who nods, smiles sweetly and has a MP3 tucked in his ears; the crippled, umbrella-carrying lady with her two little scruffy dogs going to the shop for the daily paper; the busy workers on their way to or from for a day's pay; the petite power walker with buns of steel; the gossiping old broads who don't even look at me.

My neighbourhood is more alive and active than I realised and I'm glad I live where I do.
