It's got to be difficult, so many people wanting a few seconds of your time all at once wherever you go. I'm sure it's hard for him to decide when to be friendly and accommodating and when to set some boundaries and say no when he really doesn't have time to stop, etc.

Still, being adored by that many people is a nice problem to have though. So I don't feel too bad for him. Wink

I don't think smashing has anything to do with it---He's just keeping an eye on it to make sure it isn't coming his way.
