Life's a big carnival for Gerard Butler, as RadarOnline.com caught the 40-year-old ladies man in Brazil Tuesday, enjoying what appeared to be a belated Valentine’s Day celebration with an exotic stunner.


The Scottish native and the brunette beauty climbed to the top of a surfing hot-spot called the Arpoador, where they flirted and talked, looking happy as can be. The Brazilian beauty then accompanied the 300 star back to his Ipanema hotel.

Butler told UK Daily Mail he has a sweet spot for the South American locale.


"This is the third time I've been to Rio and every time I come it's the same feeling I do not want to leave," he said. "It is the most beautiful, most wonderful of all cities -- I'm thinking about buying a property here.”

I think this story is incorrect. The woman he chatted with at the concert and afterwards is the model pictured here. The woman on the beach looks like a different woman.

Reports say Butler met the stunning 5ft 9in model, Beatriz Coelho, when they were both watching the Carnival display from an exclusive box at the Sambadrome stadium. After enjoying the show the twosome apparently left together for the night before reuniting the next day for a sunset rendezvous.

26-year-old Coelho reportedly confirmed the hook up to Brazilian newspaper O Dia, gushing that the 300 star is “sweet, lovely and polite”.

And it’s obvious to see what the renown ladies man sees in Coelho – the statuesque model has beautiful flowing brunette locks, a figure to die for and a unique exotic look – all things she showcased to perfection in a recent retro-inspired advertising photo shoot for the canned energy drink Burn.

Gerard Butler reportedly falls for Brazilian model at Rio Carnival

British actor Gerard Butler is reportedly smitten with a Brazilian beauty he met recently at the Rio Carnival.

Model Beatriz Coelho, a stunning 5ft 9in brunette, reportedly caught the 300 star’s eye as they both watched the world-famous carnival from an exclusive box at the Sambadrome Stadium.

They left the venue together, before being spotted again the following day sharing a romantic rendezvous, according to reports in Brazil.

Coelho, 26, reportedly confirmed the hook-up, adding that the 40-year-old Law Abiding Citizen star is “sweet, lovely, charming and polite”.

According to reports, Butler had spent Monday night chatting up various women at the Brahma box – while asking a friend to get their numbers.

But he seemed to settle on Coelho and was pictured chatting to her before moving with her to a more private room in the box, where they “got to know each other better”, reported a local newspaper.

Coelho reportedly told the newspaper: “Yes, we did hook up! The photographs say everything, but I’m going to keep it to myself because I don’t know if anything else will happen.

“He saw me and came over to talk. He is sweet, lovely, charming and polite.”

She added: “He said he was really enjoying the Carnival and Rio. We also spoke about work. I saw [Butler's films] 300 and PS. I Love You. He is an excellent actor.”

Truly Coelho didn't know enough about Butler to know that 1) you don't blab to the press about a hook up, and 2) it wasn't so serious for him that he couldn't get a bunch of other numbers, and be seen "canoodling" with Pussycat girl AND the other chick at the beach in the latest pics.

Supposedly there's a picture that was floating around the Net earlier that has mysteriously disappeared. Don't know what it was or if it was even related to this story, but still...

I truly hope for the woman's sake she didn't think it was going to be more than a fling, because women get hurt that way. Hit it and quit it, then move on but for goodness sakes don't get smitten.

I guess I am taking these stories with a grain of salt - and considering the language issues as well.
She was probably asked about Butler and she said she met him (acknowledging that there are pics all over the web). They may have asked about details which she declined to answer. They may have asked if she was going to see him again or some other stupid question and she said something like she didn't know what was going to happen. It all sounds pretty non-newsworthy to me.

On the other hand, they could have met that night and slept together and went their separate ways. Again, not really newsworthy but whatever.

i'll be glad when he starts filiming whatever is next and this razzi stuff quietens down! it's getting old.

The arrival of Gerard Butler to Floripa today brings more visibility to the high summer 2010 season, which is emplacando in the international media since the Réveillon.
