A YORK film company has just finished filming for its latest production starring Hollywood superstar Gerard Butler.

Mad As Birds, which has offices in Tower Street and Wales, spent six weeks in Scotland shooting its physiological thriller Keepers.

The film, which alongside the London Has Fallen and P.S I Love You star features Peter Mullan and Connor Swindells, is based on a real life mystery surround three lighthouse keepers.

Mad As Birds launched the film at the American Film Market in November last year. Now filming has been wrapped the production is due to be completed by October this year, which will be followed by a world-wide release.

Mad As Birds was launched in 2013 by York-based producer Andy Evans and Welsh writer Celyn Jones.

As well as Keepers, the company has recently taken its latest comedy Poms to Cannes Film Festival. It is also working on a Second World War thriller Six Minutes to Midnight, co-written by Eddie Izzard.
