Gerard Butler Says It's Important to Have Strong Men as Role Models

Gerard Butler checks messages on his phone while enjoying a stroll on Thursday (October 23) in Los Angeles.

The 44-year-old Scottish actor recently chatted about how important it is to have strong men as role models.

“I do. I’m fortunate that I come from a large Catholic family and it is a bit like the clan, so I grew up with all my uncles and great uncles around. That definitely helped me. But my dad wasn’t there and I’m sad about that and I often wish that he’d been around. I didn’t see him until I was 16. However, my mum met and married somebody else when I was 15 and they’ve been together ever since,” Gerard shared with Today.
