Festival Party Wrap: Friday, Sept. 9
MSN Canada brings you into the hottest TIFF parties around

The Event: Grey Goose Soho House Ides of March cocktail party

The Location: A made-over loft just up Duncan St. off of King St.

The Vibe: Intimate. The venue had a lot of exposed brick, and natural fabrics. Think plush sofas and indirect lighting - it's the living room you wish you had if you had the budget. But it's much bigger than your average living room.

Famous faces spotted: Phillip Seymour Hoffman (fresh off the red carpet for "Moneyball"), Paul Giamatti, Evan Rachel Wood, Max Minghella, Marissa Tomei, Kate Mara, Ryan Gosling and, yep, George Clooney

Memorable moment: Talking to Evan Rachel Wood about our mutual appreciation for Justin Bieber (yes, we both have Bieber Fever) - she's getting to meet him in a couple days and pumped about it. The stunning actress was wearing the best power suit of the cast - sorry George and Ryan - and it clearly elicited a little envy from co-star Ryan Gosling. Wood agreed she had the best suit but had to concede that Gosling's shoes were amazing and that I had to check them out. (With an opener like that, how could I not go talk to him!?)

The Event: Toro's "Painting the Night Red" for Artists for Peace and Justice

The Location: AME restaurant on Mercer St.

The Vibe: Guests may have been in a giving mood when they bought tickets to the annual charity event, which raises money for Haitian relief, but once inside the intimate cocktail party it became clear many were also eager to meet someone famous.

Famous faces spotted: The event was co-hosted by Oscar-winning director and APJ founder Paul Haggis, CBC's George Strombolopolous and Hollywood actor Gerard Butler, who told the crowd being involved with the charity was "the most powerful thing" he'd ever done.

Most memorable moment: Despite being whisked to a more private corner of the restaurant, a scruffy and very slender looking "Gerry" Butler still found himself surrounded by eager female fans hoping to have their photo taken with him. He happily obliged for a while before a minder told the crowd to back away.

The Event: The Hazelton Takeover hosted by CBC's George Stroumboulopoulos

The Location: ONE at the Hazelton Hotel

The Vibe: Fans hoping to catch a glimpse of their favourite stars entering the bash were held back by barricades and tight security - but inside there was no holding back for the lucky invitees who clearly came to party (while coating their stomachs with sliders and flatbread pizza).

Famous faces spotted: Jon Hamm, Sam Roberts, Dustin Milligan, boys from Billy Talent - Gerard Butler and Bono allegedly crashed in the wee hours of the morning.

Best quote of the night: "O-M-G! Wasn't that an OMG moment??" Dustin Milligan (of "Shark Night 3D" fame) to Joan as Jon Hamm passed them coming inside from the patio.
