With Halloween falling on a Sunday this year, the holiday turned into a 3-day costume party for many. Lady Gaga and Rachel Zoe were once again popular choices this year, along with plenty of run-of-the-mill skimpy superheroes and cats. Surprisingly enough, there weren’t nearly as many Snooki costumes as anticipated.

Costume originality seemed to be at an all-time low this year (at least here in New York City), so we can’t help but wonder if celebrities with bigger budgets and personal stylists fared any better. As expected, they did, and at the forefront of the celebrity costume parade was model Heidi Klum. Klum hosted her famous star-studded affair at Lavo in Manhattan.

Blame it on her reputation for going all out every Halloween, but all of the stars in attendance, including Kim Kardashian, Gerard Butler, Olivia Munn, John Legend, Brooklyn Decker, Chanel Iman, Christian Siriano, and Russell Simmons, dressed to impress.

Very colorful. What is he supposed to be?

Apparently, you all aren't the only ones who can't figure out what he was supposed to be.

Gerard Butler Mystifies on Halloween

So Heidi Klum and her hubby Seal have a Halloween bash every year, nothing weird about that. But this year, Gerry Butler’s costume at said party was quite mystifying.


What the hell was he? Looks part Phantom of the Opera (that makes sense), part Sgt. Pepper with the jacket, and a little tranny with the boa. And, goodness knows he does look like he’s putting that L’Oréal endorsement to good use with the hair!

Anyone else got any guesses of what the heck Gerry was attempting to be? Or should we stick with the phantom-SgtPepper-tranny theme that it seems to be?

Strange costumes aside, I am definitely looking forward to two of Gerard’s upcoming projects. The first is Machine Gun Preacher, where he plays Sam Childers, a reformed drug-dealing biker that finds God, becomes a preacher, and then starts an orphanage and rescues former child soldiers in Sudan. Machine Gun Preacher releases next September.

The second project is Coriolanus, Ralph Fiennes’ directorial debut. While Ralph plays the title character, a man who betrays his country after being cast out, his alliance after the betrayal is with Gerry’s character, Tullus Aufidius. The two then march to war against Coriolanus’ home country. That movie also has Brian Cox, so it pretty much has to be awesome. Seriously. Ralph Fiennes(♥!!!), Gerard Butler(♥!!) and Brian Cox(♥!!!) in one movie – can’t get much better than that. No release date for Coriolanus yet, but it’s expected to premiere at the Belgrade Film Festival early next year.

He looks like a character out of "Interview with the Vampire" to me. Hummm---- or maybe a zombie drag queen.
