Actually, I kind of agree with that statement. I know that Gerry was raised Catholic, but he seems sometimes be on a quest for spirituality. Maybe this film will remind him that he needs to look to one source for inner peace, and it's not the Oneness University or some dirty river in India. That is just my opinon.
Perhaps it will also help him better face what appears to be a mid-life crisis with some perspective, instead of continuing to fight getting older with fratboy behavior. The atrocities in the Sudan and tragedy in Haiti can only help him keep things in perspective -- which I would imagine would be difficult in Hollywood when you are surrounded by superficiality, wealth, and power. Again, just my opinon.
After going to www.machinegunpreacher.org and watching the video etc on that site, one of my first thoughts was that Butler's involvement in this project might have a profound and positive influence on him. I think it would have those types of effects on me, if I were in his shoes.
