Federal wages are $7.25 per hour, but some states, because of cost of living in their area, have different state wages.

In CA, it's 8 bucks.

Hey Y'all!!! Just wanted to say thanks for the post on Friday about needing extras for MGP. I took a chance and emailed that person in the link and they called me back within 20 minutes! I couldn't believe it! I really didn't think that they would need people this late in the game. But sure enough, they did! So I closed my little shop and went home to change my clothes to look like a summer traveler and headed off the to airport for the day.
I checked in at 1:30pm and waited to be called to set. I think it was around 5:30 before my group was called. My first scene was to get on a shuttle outside the airport doors when they called action. But soon after we began, tornado sirens started to blare and we had to head inside where I sat and watched Gerard prepare for his scene.
My next scene was even better! I had to go up the escalator to the second floor where Gerard's scene began and ride the escalator down after he goes down. Despite the incredible heat and humidity ( no a/c in the place) I had a fantastic time! It was so exciting to see a film in process and to be able to be mere feet from this incredibly gorgeous man for hours!!

I kind of agree with this. Not because it is his entire appeal, but because I think his acting suffers when he is trying to use an American accent. Well, that and the brogue is more attractive to me than the chewing-the-words, wierd mouth thing with the bad American accent (which makes me cringe).
I think his best acting (and movies) have been when he uses his own accent, i.e. Dear Frankie and The Jury.

I always say, just let the guy speak the way he normally does. Change the script or something.

Ditto on the accent thing. I have always wondered why they make him do an American accent when he obviously struggles with it. Looks like he has a big wad of chew in his check when he tries to talk. The Scottish brogue is a big part of what makes him him. Did they ever do that with Sean Connery? I don't ever recall him having to pretend that he wasn't Scottish! Dear Frankie was one of my favorites too. Just came off as a more real character, very believable.
