Gerard Butler Could Join a 'Sin City' Sequel
The King Leonidas of '300' spills that he has talked with director Frank Miller about having a possible role in the third 'Sin City' movie.
"300" star Gerard Butler has sparked rumor that he may be playing a part in one "Sin City" sequel. When talking to MTV, the actor who stars opposite Katherine Heigl in "The Ugly Truth" shared that he has discussed possibility of working together again with director Frank Miller.
"At one point, he talked to me about one of the 'Sin City' [movies]," the 39-year-old confessed. "And we discussed that." Keeping mum on the potential role, he further unraveled that the part is likely for the third movie, instead for "Sin City 2". He said, "There's a kind of cool character I think in the third one. But it was all very kind of soft talk."
Gerard Butler has teamed up with comic book artist/film director Frank Miller when he joined "300" as King Leonidas. His feature credits include "P.S., I Love You", "RocknRolla" and "Gamer". He will be seen as a vengeful man Clyde Shelton in "Law Abiding Citizen" when the movie hits theaters across the U.S. next Friday, October 16.
In the meantime, "Sin City" is getting a sequel treatment. The second movie allegedly will pick up the story from Frank Miller's "A Dame to Kill For", which tells the earlier story of Clive Owen's Dwight McCarthy. Some of the original cast to reprise their roles include Rosario Dawson, Jessica Alba, Brittany Murphy, Mickey Rourke and Michael Clarke Duncan. No release date has been set just yet.
