I loved Solid Gold. My mother hated me watching the show for all the 'lack of costume' at the time.

I think it's funny that she put me into hula dancing at 4, where most people hardly wore anything...of course, she wouldn't let that happen to me, but still.

Her culture was one of the few that 'covered up' during dance.

i don't think i even noticed the costumes much...........just wanted to DANCE!!!!!!

I didn't either, but my mother did. She still does with Dancing with the Stars.

But it did add to the allure.

Ah, the lead black female dancer in Solid Gold, happens to be married to the band leader of Dancing with the Stars, if I'm correct.
