Wall Photos Gerard Butler gets a Bhagavad Gita! He actually knew of it, but was happy to get his own copy. He said he goes to India. By: Mohanasini Lightfoot https://www.facebook.com/people/Rasa-Manjari/1422138533#!/people/Rasa-Manjari/1422138533?sk=wall And one of the comments under the photo: - Quote :
- Mohanasini Lightfoot yeah...i didn't even recognize him...then people were coming up to him to get a photo with him and then i did a double take and said, oh yeah...i know who you are. He gave a $100 to Food for Life and got this Bhagavad Gita!
Hope he doesn't become a Hare Krishna...

http://twitter.com/#!/bonbevans/ I find this really funny. He was really turned around. The Warehouse district (it's called the Arts District now) is on one side of the French Quarter, the Marigny is on the other. The French Quarter is sandwiched between them. Too funny. Lost in New Orleans.

| Somehow I doubt he is really shopping at WalMart. I'm sure he has "people" to pick up his toothpast and deodorant (and skip the razor aisle). It sounds like someone is making a joke about him being in their town... OMG, can you see him in a "People Of Walmart" email????!!!! (wearing the Cock Hat, Colorado Buffs shirt, full neck beard and fug hat?) But back to the bar and restaurant sightings: - Quote :

Lost in New Orleans. This is so cool! My dad's condo is in the Arts and Warehouse District. I can totally understand getting lost though. It doesn't matter how many times I've been there my entire life (including living there a bit), I always get lost. They don't label some of the bridges, exits, etc. very well. I've gone over the damn Huey Long Bridge so many times thinking I was going another way and then couldn't get turned around until I got to the other side of the bridge. If you've been there your whole life, you probably don't think anything's difficult about getting around. That's cause they're used to it and know what to look for. But when it comes to getting around the city, by car anyway, it's surprisingly not very tourist friendly in that respect. But they do things a little off the beaten trail there, so to speak. It's just their way.

| Isn't that funny? I've always found New Orleans easy to get around. It makes sense to me the way it is laid out. Maybe it's a by-product of traveling a lot and having to find my way through new cities for work, I dunno. I rarely have problems in cities and with directions. BTW, I have a couple of friends who have homes in the French Quarter, and one who lives in the Garden District. Love both areas and love walking around. It really is a great area for walking. I really haven't had a chance to spend any real time there since Katrina. I wonder if the parts that I love are very different now. Guess I might find out in a few weeks.... | |

| That is funny, Dallas! I have no sense of direction though. So that doesn't help me much. Haha!
All the places my family seems to frequent when we visit seem to be fine post-Katrina. But we primarily just go to the Quarter or within walking distance of it and my dad's condo. Or we go out to the parish (Harahan, etc.) to see my Grandma and other relatives. So, I couldn't tell you if all the major tourist places/attractions are back to pre-Katrina glory. I just know the places we go seem mostly back to normal, in many places completely.
I hope you get to go in a few weeks. You will have to tell us all about your trip when you get back!

| That is hilarious....Gerry at Walmart. Oh but the really cool thing is Gerry in New Orleans and at Cafe Du Monde. (Delicious beignets) I was there in '91 and happened to look to my left and spotted an ole' Cajun man who had a bit in the 1984 Duran Duran tour documentary "Sing Blue Silver". I quickly hunted my disposable camera but he disappeared. I knew he was a street person, and found him a ways down rummaging thru a garbage can. So, I talked him up, and he remembered filming the clip and told me where (I can't remember now!) and how much they paid him. Basically it was keyboardist Nick Rhodes & his wife and entourage watching street performers while live jazz music wafted thru the streets. The old man was reminiscing about Louis Armstrong, who was older than he, and them being kids. Awesome. More so that I SAW this guy seven years later and recognized him! I felt like I was the only one in New Orleans (tourist, that is) that knew him. Still have that photo too. | |

| Also, I have a curious question.
First, I understand how we can follow Gerry updates on Twitter but how are you guys finding random Gerry stuff on Facebook? Seems like that would be a bit harder to do.
I mean all these various folks posting pics with him on FB. How do y'all know when this happens?
just wonderin' | |

What a great story from New Orleans! When you chatted with him, did he give you his personal story?
