After taking a leap into the world of casual dating with guys I have not known at least a year, I have been both frustrated and impressed. Here are my observations based on dates with a few guys. A couple of them are people I knew in the past but had not seen in a long time, just to be fair. Feel free to add your dating pet peeves.

1. Call me spoiled, but I expect you to open doors for me. That includes my car door. You automatically lost your chance for a second date in the first five minutes of the first date when you didn't open my car door for me.
2. I may be spoiled when it comes to wanting a man to be courteous, however, when I tell you I am easygoing and I am fine with whatever you want to do, I mean it. What kind of future do we have it you feel like you are walking on eggshells? I apologize for the other women who make men feel that way.
3. Just so you know, I don't play games. I always mean what I say. If you are used to silly, shallow women who play, I am sorry. I am going to be a big adjustment for you.
4. I do love sports--all sports because I like competition-- and I don't care if the game goes into overtime. See number 3. I mean it when I say I want to see it to the end.
5. Don't invite me to do something you would not enjoy doing yourself. I don't want you to be miserable. Surely we could find something we both enjoy doing. And if not, should we be dating in the first place?
6. Yes, men ballroom dance. Please don't call my past, present or future partners "sissies." I wouldn't call my straight or gay dance partners sissies by any means. Can you lift a woman over your head while keeping time to the music?
7. Don't be afraid to ask me to dance. It's sweet when you ask me to dance and your hand is shaking a little and you seem kind of nervous. I like to watch the transformation as you get more comfortable with me.
8. Aggressive driving is not attractive nor does it make you seem macho. I really don't think other drivers are trying to piss you off. But if they knew your angry personality, they may do it for sport just to get a rise out of you. I have a friend who can help you with some anger management, by the way.
9. Don't ask the question if you don't want an honest answer from me.
10. And finally! I don't care how hot you are. If you are an asshole, womanizer, mama's boy or sexual deviant, I am not going to go out with you again.

Wonderful list!

What's amazing in my previous experience, is that guys don't believe most of that stuff. When I say no, or don't do it, I MEAN IT! Don't second guess me, don't think I'm trying to 'hint' to you by saying the opposite. When I want something, I'll say it. I don't expect you to read minds, even though all the TV shows and movies make you believe such nonsense.

Yes, there are times when you can try to change my mind, and if I really love you, I'll compromise, to a point, but only if I love you, not before.
