Law Abiding Citizen opening

Based on various sources, I'm reading that the release date for Law Abiding Citizen is scheduled for 26 Mar 2010. We'll know more as the date approaches, but so far that's the release date.

Thanks DK. I read that The Bounty is going to have a Christmas/December release - this year. Have you heard this as well? That's a fast turnaround.

If I recall correctly, what I read was worded as "Christmas release", but I don't know if they mean that literally or are speaking in general terms.

I guess when you don't have a bunch of CGI or special effects etc., post production goes fast and you can time the release based on the competition that is coming out. Maybe rom coms historically do well around the holidays.

I wonder why LAC isn't going to be released earlier? Obviously there is a method to their timing. I thought I read that F. Gary Gray recently had an LAC screening. I assume the film is getting close to completion.

Update: So far as non-Universal releases go, Box Office Mojo claims that Gerard Butler and Jamie Foxx's Law Abiding Citizen has just been moved up from a release next March to this October 16th. Hmmm, on the tail of Butler's own Gamer the month before and up against the teen-drawing remake of The Stepfather and the theoretically older-crowd-grabbing adaptation of The Road, eh? So many thrillers, so little time.

F Gary Gray confirmed it this afternoon:
