Wedding bells for oor Ross leave a Broon feeling doon
By Stevie Gallacher, 9 August 2015 10.00am.

The King finally has a queen!

ITV’s man in Los Angeles and Sunday Post columnist Ross King is set to tie the knot with fiancée Brianna Deutsch in a hush-hush ceremony later today.

The details are being kept secret but The Sunday Post understands Take That’s Gary Barlow and Scottish screen hunk Gerard Butler will be guests of honour.

Several US-based British stars will also be at the glitzy bash.

But the surprise wedding has come as a shock to one resident...of Glebe Street.

Daphne Broon last week made a transatlantic dash to Ross’s Hollywood home to persuade him to marry her instead.

And The Sunday Post understands the entertainment reporter had to enlist the “help” of Paisley-born actor Butler.

This week’s Broons strip shows Daphne’s attempt to woo Ross back from Brianna – and his attempts to deflect a desperate Daphne.

“I’ve had to apologise to Daphne,” said Ross.

“She’ll always have a special place in my heart – and my dinner table.

“I told her my pal Gerry is looking to settle down. And that I’d save some of the buffet for her.”

Ross proposed to Brianna eight years ago but the couple decided to get hitched only last week.

He remained tight-lipped about the ceremony but a source told of Ross’s heartache after he found out his family in Scotland wouldn’t be able to attend the wedding.

“Ross is absolutely gutted his Scottish family can’t be there,” they said. “His mum suffers from Alzheimer’s and is too ill to travel so Ross’s sister Elaine has to stay at home looking after her.

“Sadly there’s no way his mum, Elaine, and her husband and children will be able to make it to Beverly Hills.

“They’ll be a big miss for Brianna and Ross as they’re an unbelievably close family.

“They’ve asked people not to get them presents, they’ve asked guests to make a donation to an Alzheimer’s charity instead.

“Ross is planning a big bash in Scotland with Brianna for all his Scottish family later in the year.”

The wedding will be held at a secret location.

“Ross wants to keep the location under wraps as it’s a small ceremony for close friends like Gary and Gerard, but it’ll be at one of Beverly Hills’ top hotels.”

He's the man who knows the stars better than anyone, after years of interviewing and mingling with Hollywood's finest.

So it's no surprise TV presenter Ross King had quite the mix of famous faces at his wedding, which took place in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles.

The Good Morning Britain and Lorraine correspondent married his long-time partner Brianna Deutsch in a star-studded ceremony, which was attended by Take That star Gary Barlow and Hollywood actor Gerard Butler and their partners.

The Good Morning Britain and Lorraine correspondent, sometimes dubbed 'Mr Hollywood', exchanged vows with producer Brianna in front of other celebrities including Jackie Collins, Patsy Palmer and Vinnie Jones.

And Ross, 53, told Hello! magazine how he was able to 'slow down time' when he saw his lovely lady walk down the aisle towards him, thanks to his acting skills.

'When I was taking acting lessons I was taught a technique which helps you to be present in the moment,' he explained.

'It's a way of slowing down time. I shall never forget seeing Brianna walk up the aisle.

'Nor the mention of my parents - my elderly mother back in Glasgow and my father who we lost a couple of years ago. I'd have loved them to have been there.'

His gorgeous new wife added: 'It was everything I wanted it to be and more. What surprised me was that I was so calm. It meant I was able to savour every moment, although I did get teary when we exchanged vows.'

Take That star Gary went along to the lovely nuptials with his wife Dawn, and also performed at the LA-based reception - at one point duetting with the groom.

The singer explained: 'My wife Dawn and I often spend summer holidays in California with the kids but we'd have come here specially for the wedding. I'm so pleased for them both.'

In the days following the wedding, Gary tweeted his congratulations for the happy couple, writing on the social sharing site: 'Congrats @TheRossKing and Brianna on your fabulous wedding ! Gorgeous.'

And 300 star Gerard, who attended with his beautiful girlfriend Morgan Brown, said: 'We first met at a party on a barge in London. It was so nice to see my buddy finally get hitched.

'And he's lucked out with Brianna - she's a great woman.'

Acting icon Joan said of the wedding: 'Ross is the most fabulous guy.

'And Brianna is a fantastic girl, not only a raving beauty but also a lovely, warm person. I'm thrilled for them.'

The couple married in Beverly Hills restaurant Il Cielo with the bride wearing a Vera Wang gown which she picked out when the couple of eight years got engaged in 2010.

With her brunette locks teased into elegant, tumbling curls, she looked a vision in the off-white frock, complete with a layered lace neckline and a frou-frou skirt.

Old pals: Take That star Gary was thrilled to have gone to Los Angeles with his wife Dawn to help Ross celebrate, and he even performed at the ceremony
