Gerard Butler and girlfriend are perfectly in sync as a cowboy and Indian while Mel Gibson shirks costume altogether at pre-Halloween party in LA

By Carolyn Hiblen for MailOnline

While the identity of his lady love continues to remain a mystery, things are clearly getting serious between Gerard Butler and his girlfriend, who are happily flaunting their romance all over town.

On Thursday night, the pair got dressed up in complementary couples Halloween costumes as they attended a star-studded party at hotspot Pearl's Liquor Bar in West Hollywood, accompanied by an equally dressed-up friend.

But while the majority of guests went all-out with their fun, sexy or downright gruesome outfits, fellow attendee Mel Gibson seemed to believe that his normal appearance was character enough, opting to forgo an actual costume.

Howdy, handsome! Gerard Butler went as Clint Eastwood's classic character Blondie from The Good, The Bad And The Ugly as he attended a pre-Halloween party at Pearl's Liquor Bar in West Hollywood on Thursday night

Gerard dressed appropriately for the chilly evening, wrapping up in layers as he impersonated Clint Eastwood's infamous character Blondie in 1966 Western classic The Good, The Bad And The Ugly.

The 44-year-old donned an old off-white shirt, a tan suede waistcoat and had a deep red and brown shawl draped across his chest and shoulders.

A black hat with brown leather accent topped off his brunette mane, while he sported a face full of scruff.

Complementary couple: The actor and his mystery lady love were dressed in complementary cowboy and Indian outfits as they continue to flaunt their romance all over town

Leaving little to the imagination! The leggy brunette donned a tan leather bra and animal skin loincloth-like skirt with a bone chestpiece, tan suede peep-toe fringed booties and a traditional colourful feathered headdress

Is a two-time Oscar-winner not a costume in itself? Mel Gibson shirked the costume trend as he attended the same star-studded party in regular clothes

Here's hoping his new love has some Native American Indian in her otherwise she'll find herself at the centre of the kind of racially insensitive uproar for her outfit choice so many have faced before her.

The leggy brunette left very little to the imagination as she put her lean and toned physique on display in a tan leather bra, a tan animal skin loincloth-like skirt that was only tied at the sides, revealing her entire legs and thighs.

She wore a bone chestpiece over the top, offering a small amount of coverage, while she added height to her already impressive stature with tan suede peep-toe booties with fringing on the backs and carried a tan leather satchel over one shoulder.

Triple treat: The couple were joined by a female pal who went all-out with her scary vampire costume

In good spirits: The pretty brunette appeared to be in fits of giggles as her beau drove them home once the festivities came to an end

Let us in on the joke! The giggly lass's laughter was contagious, soon spreading to her boyfriend and friend

She wore her long locks in plaited pigtails and kept her make-up fresh and natural, with a huge traditional colourful feathered headdress on over the top adding plenty of drama and ensuring she stood out from the pack.

Her gal pal chose the more safe option of a vampire, complete with a red hooded dress, dramatic smoky eye shadow, white skin, blood red lips and fangs.

With two Oscars under his belt, Mel, on the other hand, clearly felt that he was famous enough not to need a costume.

On a more serious note: Finally managing to compose herself, the trio were then on their way, with Gerard behind the wheel of his SUV

Suited and booted: The 44-year-old gave his best Blondie impersonation in an old off-white shirt, a tan suede waistcoat and with a deep red and brown shawl draped across his chest and shoulders, complete with a black hat with brown leather accent

The 58-year-old kept it simple in dark jeans, a black shirt that was rolled up at the sleeves and unbuttoned to reveal some chest hair and a silver necklace.

A pair of black crocodile boots completed his simple attire.

Effortless: The 58-year-old kept it simple in dark jeans, a black shirt that was rolled up at the sleeves and unbuttoned to reveal a hint of chest hair and a necklace, teamed with black crocodile boots

Easy does it: The actor was looking a little worse for wear as he finally called it a night, riding in the backseat as he caught a lift home with pals
