Gerard Butler spots the cameras while browsing some gear with a guy friend at a local surf shop on Saturday afternoon (August 2) in Malibu, Calif.

Earlier in the day, the 44-year-old actor and his pal stopped by Starbucks for a quick caffeine fix before their shopping trip.

The week before, Gerard was spotted packing on the PDA while kissing a mystery woman after dinner outside Nobu.

It's rare to spot Gerard Butler without a beautiful woman on his arm.

But on Saturday, the studly 44-year-old actor was out shopping for surf gear with a male friend instead of female company while in Malibu, California.

The 300 star and surfing enthusiast ducked into the shop with his buddy but left without making any purchases.

Gerard flaunted his athletic physique in a collared khaki shirt unbuttoned to show off his muscular chest, a pair of distressed denim jeans and brown flip-flop sandals.

The scruffy Chasing Mavericks actor kept his eyes protected from the bright California sun with a pair of aviator shades and further accessorised with a handful of black and brown leather bracelets.

With coffee and mobile in hand, the handsome Scottish star strolled through the shopping center back to his car, after apparently not finding the right gear he was looking for.

The Scottish Casanova's sightings in California follow a recent racking up of air miles, as he was spotted partying in the UK as well as at the World Cup in Brazil over the last few weeks.

In July, Butler was seen out with at least three separate women, the most recent being a steamy encounter with a mystery brunette outside of Malibu restaurant Nobu on July 27.

And five days prior, he escorted a pretty blonde into Project nightclub in London.
