Film star Will Ferrell in Soccer Aid game
HOLLYWOOD stars Will Ferrell and Gerard Butler have signed up to appear in ITV1's celebrity footie event, Soccer Aid.
Anchorman star Will and Scot Gerard — who appeared in movie 300 — will take part in the charity match for the first time.
They join Austin Powers star Mike Myers — who played in the last event in 2010 — chef Gordon Ramsay and Dutch goalie Edwin van der Sar in the Rest of the World team, captained by actor Michael Sheen.
They go up against an England squad — led by Robbie Williams — which includes JLS stars Marvin Humes and Aston Merrygold, Olly Murs, TV presenter Ben Shephard, DJ Jamie Theakston and former England striker Teddy Sheringham.
Robbie will be hoping his English stars do better this time. The Rest of the World squad were victorious 7-6 on penalties in a nail-biting finish in 2010 after a 2-2 draw.
This year's match — which will raise cash for the Unicef children's charity — will kick off at Manchester United's Old Trafford ground on May 27 and will be broadcast live on ITV1.
An insider said: "Will, Gerard and Mike are great signings for this year's Soccer Aid and will bring some real Hollywood glitz to the match."
