Good job, Nay!

I've been very busy getting ready for the move. I think I see a light on the horizon when it comes to packing. I've only been doing this for weeks now. I filled my front porch with stuff and gave it to charity last week, and I might have to make one more small pickup.

Of course, Coco is helping. Yesterday she got hold of one of my pound puppies. By the time I found out, she had removed one of it's eyes. I removed the other eye and went ahead and gave it to her.

She had such a hard day. Rolling Eyes

Well naturally. She worked very hard finding that pound puppy and teaching it that SHE is top dog.

Surprising how much stuff you accumulate isn't it.

Nay, lovely chair.

This is the third time I'm trying to post here. First 2 didn't take.

Yes, Nay's chair is nice. Yes, dogs eat parts off of stuffed toys and sometimes choke on them, just like kids do. DK, the stuffing inside the Pound Puppy is a choking and intestine blocking hazard. Better take it away from such a small dog. New dog stuffed toys don't have stuffings (the dangerous waddings) because dogs eat the stuffings and get sick or die.

This post better take.

Hi Dani! Good to see you posting. What's news for you?

Thanks for the compliment, Sami, DK, Shar and Julie. It was surprisingly easy to do. Now I have another little project for today - to hang some framed prints from Paris above my cedar cabinet on the opposite end of the verandah.

Coco, you are such a gorgeous little thief. I love how much you are obviously thinking about helping. Julie is correct though; be careful with the stuffing. My boys enjoy the thrill of the squeaky toy but can become overly 'fond' of tearing.

Has Pantry been kicking you out, Julie? tongue

So far Coco hasn't torn apart any of her toys. She prefers to drag them around the house, shake them a bit, and bring them to me to throw. But you're right, I do need to watch and make sure. Even toys made for dogs can be dangerous. She has a non-stuffing toy she loves, but even that has two squeaky thingys in it. I have caught her humping things, including her bed.

Three weeks from today I will be leaving the residence I have lived in the past 14 years.

It will be both exciting and terribly sad, DK. Relish both emotions as it means you have made and are about to make roots and memories.

DK, take some pictures of all your rooms and outside. It's probably already different with clutter gone and things packed up, but the big pieces are still there. Don't forget closets and bathrooms.

I'm in a mellow, holiday mood so ...

Random list of a few of my favourite things:

hot cup of tea in the morning
a book you can't put down
dreamless sleep with fresh sheets and a gentle breeze
walking in the dusk of the evening
good jazz music (with some gyrating)
compliments, given or received
a bargain purchase
laughter that crinkles the whole face
candlelight eating
gossiping with friends
ironing
being absorbed in a spellbinding movie
food that explodes with flavour in your mouth
the smell of rain
people who are mysteries

Yes, Sami. It is therapeutic turning something wrinkled into dress worthy.

Go on, now. You think I'm odd ...

I enjoy ironing, but I don't iron often. Probably once every year or so.

One of my favorite things is singing or playing instruments with a good group. Haven't done that in way too long.

I don't buy things that have to be ironed, either, at least not deliberately. Lately the things that need ironing are my kid's clothes. Surprisingly, they're mostly t-shirt material. The hems and cuffs keep folding instead of lying flat. School uniforms are no-iron heavy cotton blend that don't wrinkle if I lay them flat or hang them right out of the dryer. I'm very happy about those.

So how you both survive in such warm climates, Julie and Sami? I prefer and buy cotton (or linen) based fabrics as they breathe better. Obviously, they then need ironing. The synthetic fabrics in my climate simply make me hotter.

Anyways, hello to Dallas, Dani Blue, DonnaKat, Nmartin28, pisces1113 and scorpio102675. I hope you are all happy and healthy.

I stay inside where there's air-conditioning. When I go out, there's a mad dash to get into the car and turn on the air-conditioner, then a mad dash from the car to the air-conditioned building. Then mad dash from building to car, and from car to home.

I iron what I wear to work every morning. (Khakis tend to wrinkle)

Of course, I use my ironing board for other things too.

I prefer drawing and painting while standing, so I use it as an easel. Last weekend I thought I would draw a little. I started a picture, but I wasn't allowed to finish.

It seems that Missy thought I needed help.
Good thing I wasn't painting or Little Miss might have ended up even more colorful than she is. Doin\' the Wave

Wow, she's become quite the beauty. I recognize that picture you're drawing. Wink

I'm still packing. Will I ever get finished packing? Two weeks from today and I'll be out of here. I go through boxes faster than I can get things packed.

Pack them well, DK. They may stay packed for a few years.

Hello to Dallas, Dani Blue, DonnaKat, Julie, Nmartin28, pisces1113, Sami! How are you all?

This past week has been a series of rather busy, emotional events. A visiting friend has been in need of some beagle love. She took this photo of my little gang today.

Big, yes.
Lovable, sometimes.
Entertaining, always.

This morning, Bud stole a brand new box of tissues from my bedside table and ran with them through the house, shredding as he raced jauntily by Jordy and I. Upon realising what he had, I chased him into the back yard where, with a strong wind blowing, the tissues soon covered the lawn.

Little shit.
