Gerard Butler: 'Machine Gun Preacher' Gets Release Date

Gerard Butler has a chat with Pascal Vicedomini, the founder of the Ischia Global Fest, while dining at a restaurant on Saturday (July 9) on the Island of Ischia in Naples, Italy.

The 41-year-old Scottish stud is in town to receive the Actor of the Year Award at the film festival.

Gerard’s movie Machine Gun Preacher just received a release date, as well as a new distributor.

The film will be released in limited theaters on September 23 by Relativity Media after the company acquired the rights from Lionsgate.

Gerard Butler goes shirtless while spending time on a boat with a mystery girl on Saturday (July 9) off the coast of the island Ischia in Naples, Italy.

The 41-year-old actor spent time with Pascal Vicedomini, founder of the Ischia Film Festival, earlier in the day. Gerard is in town to receive the Actor of the Year Award at the festival.

The 2011 Ischia Film Festival kicks off on Sunday (July 10) and will last one week. Among the events at the festival will be a premiere of Nicole Kidman’s film Trespass.

He is the movie hunk renowned for his many girlfriends and his love of partying.
But it looked like Gerard Butler’s revelling lifestyle was finally beginning to catch up with him after he was pictured looking rough at an Italian film festival.
However it did not seem to matter as within hours he was on a yacht enjoying the company of the latest in a long line of beautiful female friends.

The Scottish actor was a far cry from the hunky Spartan king Leonidas in 300 as he puffed away on a cigarette outside a restaurant in the sunny island of Ischia, near Naples.
In fact he looked positively scrawny as he chatted with Ischia Global Fest manager Pascal Vicedomini, wearing his hair scraped back and baring a scruffy beard.
However Gerard was smiling later in the day as he cosied up with a mystery brunette on a luxury boat.

The 41-year-old smiled as the bikini-wearing woman shared a drink with him on board.
The Gamer star later stripped off and laughed as he enjoyed the company of the latest in a long of beauties.
Perhaps he was just consoling himself, as his rumoured romance with Jessica Biel looks to have petered out
The Law Abiding Citizen actor is sure to be disappointed at the news the 29-year-old is getting back together with singer Justin Timberlake.

It had been rumoured she had got close to Gerard when they filmed Playing the Field, though they have denied a love affair.
It was first claimed they got together in March when the duo were recording scenes for the flick in Louisiana.
Sources on the set had quashed suggestions of romance, and claimed the pair had never even enjoyed a private dinner together.

But pictures of Biel riding behind Butler on his Harley Davidson last month suggest that the actors were getting very cosy indeed.
Biel could be seen clinging to the Scotsman as they sped along the Pacific Coast Highway in LA.
However his magic touch looked to finally be deserting him, after Us Weekly revealed the starlet is getting back together with her boyfriend of four years Justin Timberlake.

Last week Gerard saw in US Independence Day by partying with Paris Hilton and Hangover director Todd Phillips in Malibu, California.

The actor, who was raised in Paisley, Renfrewshire, has a history of dating his leading women.
Most famously he was linked to Jennifer Aniston, 42, when they filmed The Bounty Hunter.
It was also reported that he tried to chat up actress Kirsten Dunst, 29, at a party during the Cannes Film Festival.

Gerard has also just completed filming on two films to be releases this year, Machine Gun Preacher and Movie 43.
The former is the true story of Sam Childers, a former drug-dealing biker who became a crusader for hundreds of Sudanese children who've been forced to become soldiers.
Movie 43 is an ensemble comedy of short stories starring a host of big names including Hugh Jackman, Kate Winslet, Anna Faris, Kristen Bell, Emma Stone, Jush Duhamel and Richard Gere.
He will also reprise his role in the animated children's film How to Train Your Dragon, which was nominated for best animated feature at this year's Academy Awards.
