Scottish Fashion Awards: Four style icons revealed ahead of big night

FOUR cool Scots are in the running to be crowned Style Icon of the Year at a glittering awards show.

Hollywood hunk Gerard Butler, Doctor Who's Karen Gillan, Skins star Freya Mavor and actress Laura McGonagle have been nominated at the Scottish Fashion Awards.

Fashionistas have been voting online for their favourite with the winner being announced at the ceremony in Glasgow Science Centre on Wednesday.

Previous winners include TV presenter Jenni Falconer, Texas singer Sharleen Spiteri, reality TV star Darius Campbell and singer Paolo Nutini.

Tessa Hartmann, founder and chairman of the awards, said: "Gerard Butler's rugged good looks and box office appeal always make him a highly popular choice.

"But will he stand up against these three fabulous fashionable faces? I'm not sure."

Paul Cooney, managing director of category sponsors Capital FM, said: "The finalists represent Scottish style and talent, from Hollywood royalty to cuttingedge trend setters."

The Scottish Fashion Oscars is now a firm fixture in the international calendar, attended by global designers and industry leaders.

All voters will be automatically entered into a prize draw to win two VIP After Show party tickets.
