Gerard Butler hits the purple carpet at the 2011 CFDA Fashion Awards held at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall on Monday (June 6) in New York City.

Over the weekend, the 41-year-old Scottish actor enjoyed some R&R in Maui, Hawaii, where he relaxed on the beach and showed off his six pack!

A few days before, Gerry and his Playing the Field co-star, Jessica Biel, went for a ride on the Pacific Coast Highway on his Harley.

Reps for both the actors said the two are “just friends,” while sources on the set of their film reiterated the two were “friendly but professional.”

The fun at yesterday's CFDA Awards moved from the main event at Alice Tully Hall on to various afterparties around town. Gerard Butler made sure to catch up with lovely ladies like Michael Kors-clad Miranda Kerr and Ashley Greene while a sequined onsie-wearing Marcia Cross mingled with stars like Kanye West, Leelee Sobieski, and her husband, designer Adam Kimmel. Liv Tyler and Alessandra Ambrosio showed love for their designer pals, Proenza Schouler's Lazaro Hernandez and Prabal Gurung, respectively. Some went for an after, afterparty at the Monkey Bar, though the evening's big winner, Lady Gaga, celebrated her fashion icon honor at the Top of the Standard and performed in an outfit that was skimpy even for her! Gerard Butler’s Latest Body

Gerard Butler presented the Menswear Designer of the Year Award to Michael Bastian at the CFDAs but all anyone could talk about was his latest look:

Almost immediately after he made a big splash with his steroid-provided muscle body in 300, he slimmed down considerably to what might be referred to as a slightly beefy but nowhere near musclebound look. We thought it suited him well. Granted, when we saw him in person last year at the Versace Whitney gala we were surprised to see that he was actually quite thin and much smaller than he looked in pictures. Seeing him like this, he must look positively tiny in real life. But it can’t be said he doesn’t look good in a suit. Of course, that’s not actually surprising since most fashion is tailored for the very thin. We don’t love the hair, though. It looks too much like a wig. And we don’t know if it’s true that Deneuve said it, but it’s still a truism that after 40, one must choose one’s ass or one’s face and to be perfectly blunt, we think he looked a lot better when he had a slightly chubbier face. But kudos on the suit, Gerard. It looks wonderful on you. A shame the shirt’s all screwed up around the collar. We wonder if that shirt isn’t pinned in the back to be as tight as possible and that’s why it’s all askew in the front.

Inside Lady Gaga's CFDA after party in NYC

Belvedere served the Monster's Highball and Pepperazzi cocktails last night at a private event at The Top of the Standard in New York to celebrate Lady Gaga's CFDA win.

Patti LaBelle gave a special rendition of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" in Gaga's honour.

But this is the juicy tidbit from the evening: Gerard Butler, sporting new blonde locks, was seen flirting with Ashley Greene during the later hours of the evening. Oh, and here's a picture.

Gerard Butler trolls the CFDA event: compulsive bachelor or total sleaze?

For some reason (I have my theories), Gerard Butler was in NYC last night for the CFDA Awards. Butler has been a hard dude to keep up with lately - I think it was just a few days ago when he took Jessica Biel “for a ride” on his motorcycle, answering the eternal question, “Who WON’T Jessica Biel stalk?” And then after that outing, Gerry was in Maui - you can see those photos here. Gerard has been keeping the weight off, and I think he looks damn good (but scruffy). Anyway, I guess Gerry flew directly from Maui to NYC for this CFDA event. Why, I wonder? It’s not like Gerard is some super-suave clotheshorse. He’s been wearing the same ugly leather jacket for years! So obviously, he doesn’t care about fashion in the larger sense, like some men and many women do. Here’s my theory (and many of you have already noted this before):

My theory: Gerard Butler was trolling for his “extra” girl. Whenever there’s a big push to see him with someone - like, Jennifer Aniston or Jessica Biel - Butler plays the game with them and makes sure there are both denials of the relationship AND photos of he and the girl looking friendly. Then there are hundreds of stories about “Are they dating?” which often include Butler’s rep’s denials. Then, Butler goes for the “extra” girl. He’ll make out with a street performer. He’ll spend the night with a coed. He’ll pick up a reporter interviewing him. He’ll go to a big event where there are lots of models and pretty girls, and he’ll work it. For whatever reason, this is his MO. I used to think he was trying to send the signal to whoever (Aniston, Biel) was trying to get him to play along with fauxmance stories. Now I just think that the dude is a compulsive bachelor who will never, ever settle down.

PS… I love Gerard’s hair right now. He’s sexier when it’s long and shaggy.

By the way, I’m throwing in a photo of Matt Bomer at the CFDA event too, just in case you like ‘em fancy. WHITE COLLAR TONIGHT!!!

What's an awards show without after-parties? Marc Jacobs, who took home the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement honor at the CFDA Awards on Monday, hosted a star-studded supper at the Monkey Bar afterward. Among the guests were Liv Tyler, Kanye West, Kirsten Dunst and Daphne Guinness.

Rowdier was the crew at the Top of the Standard, who turned out to fete Fashion Icon Award recipient Lady Gaga. While the Fame Monster, clad in next to nothing, sang "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" with Patti LaBelle, a source tells us Stavros Niarchos was not wowed by her appearance.

A party source says the Greek playboy turned to a friend and, nodding in the direction of Gaga, said: "Her nipples are disgusting."

"Dude, that's tape," the friend replied, referring to the strategic coverage the artist wore beneath her racy body suit.

"Thank God!" Niarchos exclaimed.

Gerard Butler seemed more interested in Gaga's performance. The actor arrived solo to the party and stood near the front of the crowd, singing along to parts of "Poker Face."

But Butler wasn't alone all night.

Another insider tells us the hot Scot — who had gossips atwitter when he gave Jessica Biel a ride on his hawg last Thursday — spent part of the evening "chatting, flirting and laughing" with actress Ashley Greene, who clearly seemed amused by Butler. Greene split from Joe Jonas in March.

Gaga goon roughs up guest

Lady Gaga's security team roughed up a fan who tried to snag her picture during the superstar's party at the Top of the Standard Monday night.

Gaga, who was honored with the Fashion Icon Award at the Council of Fashion Designers of America awards gala, threw an after-party at the Standard Hotel with V magazine editor Stephen Gan and designer Nicola Formichetti.

She was serenaded by soul legend Patti LaBelle, who sang "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" in front of Gerard Butler, Karolina Kurkova, Prabal Gurung, Liv Tyler,Gaga's parents and her ex Luc Carl, with whom she seemed friendly all evening.

Lady Gaga Later during the night, sources said Gaga was coming downstairs from the roof to The Top when a fan took a picture of her with his phone. A spy told us, "One of her over-protective security guards started roughing him up. He pushed the guy up the stairs, grabbed his phone and threw it, then dragged him back up onto the roof."

Upon seeing the scuffle, our spy said, Gaga told her guard, "What are you doing? Leave him alone." The source added that Gaga, "looked embarrassed and shook her head." A Gaga rep didn't get back to us and an event rep had no comment.

Meanwhile, one guest fell in the pool in his tuxedo, and by 3 a.m. Nicky Hilton was "looking totally wasted," a witness said. "She was dancing like crazy, stumbling and twirling around, and tried to drag [Theory designer] Olivier Theyskens over to dance with her. Olivier pretended to dance, then he blew her off and returned to his friends."

Hilton "kept putting her clutch purse down and forgetting where she'd left it, then getting angry thinking somebody had taken it," the source added. She was also spotted "crawling around on the floor looking for something" at about 4 a.m.

A rep for Hilton said, "These events have been exaggerated. Nicky panicked when she misplaced her purse, but thankfully found it." Despite the antics, a grateful Gaga was in tears after LaBelle's performance, telling Gan, "All you need to do now to top this is to bring Luther Vandross [back]."

Gerard Butler in John Varvatos at New York’s CFDA Awards

The CFDA Awards took place in NY on Monday night May 6th, and we’ll get into how fabulous – and not – many of the ladies looked. CFDA stands for Council of Fashion Designers of America, and it’s like Oscar night for the women of the fashion biz. The men just wear tuxes or dark suits. But one man really did it up right – Gerard Butler, who’s not known for his style. He wore a John Varvatos Collection Midnight three piece tuxedo, a grey dress shirt and slim tie, and a pair of black Richards boots. All in all, it’s a Saville Row crossed with rock n’ roll Rolling Stones kinda look – and the fit is amazing. He should wear Varvatos all the time. A guy this masculine in truly fabulous clothes is just irresistable.

Ansel Elgort, son of famed fashion photographer Arthur Elgort, charmed fashion's A-list when he tap-danced on stage with Vogue's Grace Coddington to give his dad a Special Tribute Award at the CFDAs. Later, Ansel and his siblings Warren and Sophie headed to the Standard Hotel to continue the night's revelry, not knowing the Meatpacking District hot spot was hosting a private event with Lady Gaga. As the dejected trio got ready to leave, Gerard Butler appeared at the entrance and recognized Ansel from his onstage hoofing -- and told the bouncers that the trio were on the list.

That suit fitted like a glove. The slimline pants really looked good.
