Gerard Butler gives a thumbs up to photographers as he catches a flight out of town from Los Angeles International Airport on Friday (December 3).

The 41-year-old Scottish actor stayed warm in a beanie and leather jacket but had to take them off while going through security.

Gerard is reportedly in talks to star in the film adaptation of Afterburn.

If he signs on, he would play Jake, who leads a team of “recovery experts” as they venture into the danger zone to secure treasures such as the Mona Lisa, and the Crown Jewels, according to EW.

Was there ever a more perfect time to want to work for the TSA? While they have been under high scrutiny as of late for all the drama with the airport scanners and the porno pat downs, none of it would matter. Not when Gerard Butler heads to your line!!

The Scottish sexpot was photographed at Los Angeles International Airport trying to be incognito in his bomber jacket, sunglasses and skully cap on Friday, December 3rd, 2010. He gave photographers a thumbs up before taking off said accessories to begin the security process.

Butler is currently in talks to star in the bigscreen adaptation of the comic book series Afterburn. According to EW, Butler would play Jake, who leads a team of “recovery experts” who venture into the danger zone to secure treasures like the Mona Lisa, the Rosetta Stone, and the Crown Jewels for wealthy Western clients. They have their competition, of course — rival treasure hunters, pirates, and hostile mutants.

Anybody have any theories as to where he's going? Scotland? NY? Russia? Iceland? The island of Timbuktuweecoochie?
