Just Jared has a thread now:

Gerard Butler & Hugh Jackman: Global Poverty Project Pals

Gerard Butler and Hugh Jackman come out to support the launch of the Global Poverty Project’s 1.4 Billion Reasons DVD on Wednesday (October 20) at NYC’s Museum of Modern Art.

Hugh and his wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, hosted the fundraiser event.

1.4 Billion Reasons addresses the urgent need to end extreme poverty around the world. Last month, Hugh was the guest speaker on behalf of GPP at another event at New York University.

Gerard flew in from Michigan, where he visited Michigan State University over the weekend to help kick off the Spartans’ basketball season.

Check Out The Deets On The Wintour-Murdoch Kiss, The Jackman-Butler Hug

At last night's Global Poverty Project DVD launch at MoMA, where Hugh Jackman revealed his buffed up image and whipped cream shenanigans, we were positioned to make two interesting observations about the greeting rituals of two pairs: find out about the Hugh Jackman-Gerard Butler hug and the Wendi Murdoch-Anna Wintour kiss.
The Jackman-Butler interaction, observed at close range, proved a complex and amusing series of moments that rivals Marx Brothers slapstick. While Butler got blinded by flashing cameras, Jackman, standing aside (in a sort of friendly ambush), waited to greet him. Butler, blinkingly regained his sight after stepping away deeper into the MoMA foyer and, upon seeing Jackman, launched into a bromantic bear hug, immersing the Aussie in his leather jacket.
The two shared a moment of banter, during which Jackman gave Butler a bottle of Balance water. Butler accepted, and then a little bemused, told Jackman he wasn't thirsty, But Jackman wouldn't take the bottle back and dotingly insisted that Butler stay hydrated. Eventually a PR rep took care of the bottle, but the courtesy show-down between the two mixed A Night at the Opera with Duck Soup in this ping-pong of arched eyes and oh-no-no-you-take-it repartee.

Then there's the kiss, between Anna Wintour and Wendi Murdoch, who appeared quite chummy and held hands as they kissed on both cheeks in a slow-mo European way.

Murdoch appeared twice Wintour's height and called out, "Shelby! Shelby!" to Wintour's date, Shelby Bryan, to let him know that the Vogue editor would be walking the red carpet for photos.

These moments, otherwise insubstantial, struck us as humorous in their peripheral theatricality.

Lainey chimes in, and was kind of nice.....kind of.

Hugh & Spittle
Last night in New York at the Museum of Modern Art for the Global Poverty Project, Hugh Jackman arrived with wife Deborra-Lee, all smiles and in great spirits as usual, ever the most obliging star. Which is perhaps why Spittle seems less vile to me in these photos. I mean he’s still gross, but maybe not as offensively so as usual standing next to Hugh’s charisma. Hugh handed him a tolerable pass.

Hugh begins work on the next Wolverine in March under the direction of Darren Aronofsky, an inspired choice and even Hugh has said that:

"This is, hopefully for me, going to be out of the box. It's going to be the best one, I hope. Well, I would say that, but I really do feel that, and I feel this is going to be very different."

The story will take Wolverine to Japan and the script was written by Chris McQuarrie (The Usual Suspects) which is why there is already a lot of optimism surrounding the project. And Hugh has already started training to get back Wolverine’s body. The movie will open some time in 2012.
