This movie is showing up on Gerry's page on IMDB now, with status as 'completed'. There isn't a lot of information about it, but I dug up a little. Here's the trailer:

According to "Oh No They Didn't":

Quote :
Ted Demme directed Natalie in Beautiful Girls (as well as the fantastic, The Ref) but his career was cut short when he passed away in 2002. However, a couple years later we posted about a film being made called In Search Of Ted Demme, which was part documentary tribute about the man and part...something else. Natalie was to be involved and here's what we posted about her contribution at the time.

"The urn plays a key role in the film, "In Search of Ted Demme," a documentary with a mockumentary subplot written by LaGravenese and Leary.

In it, Amanda "lends" the urn to friends so they can spend "quality time" with Ted's ashes. Natalie Portman goes ice skating with it, reprising her scene from Demme's 1996 film "Beautiful Girls." Colin Quinn plays basketball with it. Robert Patrick straps the urn to his Harley and takes it for a ride. Balthazar Getty boxes with it.

Well, its taken a damn long time but the film seems like its going to be released this year and Carlotto has found a trailer, which includes a few shots of Natalie and lots of Johnny Depp and Dennis Leary.

It looks pretty funny. Whether or not Gerry is in it, I'd watch it. The part on the trailer where Johnny Depp loses the ashes was funny. So was the basketball snippet.
