Good for Gerry! He looks good in that jacket! I think I might just "respond" quite nicely if I were to look up and see him!

Does this mean he had to get certified in CPR, etc? I used to be certified, but I didn't renew. I did the defibrillator thingy too.

As someone who has been involved in healthcare for 12 years, I guess this sort of thing peaks my interest.

So next time someone faints at his premiere, he'll really know what to do...

Alice, what if they faint on purpose? You can't tell me they haven't thought of it! Laughing

Isn't he just the charity's patron? Aren't most patrons typically just famous people who use their celebrity to raise awareness for a charity and encourage people to donate - i.e. basicallly a figurehead? I don't think a patron even has to necessarily be a financial donor themselves. They can be, but I think the main job is to use your name to raise awareness.

So I'm not sure if he would do any CPR training etc for the position...but I hope he is also a donor for this charity. It sounds like this charity supplements ambulance services or something.(?) Maybe it's for rural areas or where the national health care services are not sufficient?

Yup, backup ambulance, emergency medical service.

The article was from Comrie, a village of about 2000 people. It's hard for each small community to have a comprehensive emergency response program (police, firetrucks, ambulances, medics, helicopters). When I go far away from large cities, the thought of medical emergencies scares me a lot. I'm used to living near or in places where Life Flight is a few minutes away and the ambulance guys are eating at McDonald's.

The article said that GB has been a generous contributor.

You are always one step ahead.

I guess you've hit it big time when people start fainting around you.

Yes, I can see Gerry giving "mouth to mouth". He's done it so many times before, hasn't he? Isn't that what he's been doing? You know, the girl faints, he picks her up, props her up on his chest and gives mouth to mouth resusitation while applying external heart massage! I've seen him do it hundreds of times!

Ger
