PostSubject: 300 Limited Collector’s Edition Releases November 18   Mon Nov 17, 2008 10:42 pm

Got this bit of info from Zack Snyder's website:

300, the cutting-edge, heart-pounding visual masterpiece from visionary filmmaker Zack Snyder (upcoming The Watchmen, Dawn of the Dead) is marching onto home screens as a Limited Collector’s Edition November 18 from Warner Home Video.

The new 300 Limited Collector’s Edition, available only while supplies last, will include all the spectacular special features previously available on the Two Disc Special Edition but now adds a bonus disc containing a new documentary To The Hot Gates: A Legend Retold, a comprehensive and dynamic description of the process filmmakers followed to take an ancient legend through a graphic novel and finally realizing it as a feature film. In addition there is a bonus Digital Copy of the film, a 52-page hardcover art book with a personal message from Snyder, a Lucite display with motion film image and six collectible photo cards. The 300 Limited Collector’s Edition, perfect for holiday gift giving, will retail for $49.92 SRP.

The epic graphic novel by Frank Miller (Sin City) assaults the screen with the blood, thunder and awe of its ferocious visual style faithfully recreated in an intense blend of live-action and CGI animation. Retelling the ancient Battle of Thermopylae, it depicts the titanic clash in which King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) and 300 Spartans faced off against Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro) and his massive Persian army. In spite of insurmountable odds, they fought to the death to defend their honor and freedom, inspiring all of Greece to unite against the enemy.

Commentary by director Zack Snyder, writer Kurt Johnstad and director of photography Larry Fong.

Is it all ready for it to be released? Wow, time flew by.

I'm happy for this, because, I do have quite a few different editions. I'll have to check it out tomorrow.

I am upset that there aren't more behind the scenes, stuff though.

I think for the fifth anniversary release, they should get Gerry, David, Vincent, Tom, Michael, Lena, Dominic, and others do a commentary.
